Guest guest
Dear Shayln, I totally agree with you and I appreciate your posting your private thoughts. I was merely posting the lastest scientific report on Gleevec that was announced just a few days ago, on how the medical community perceives our treatment should go. This is a large international consencus that published their collective data. I didn't express any of my opinions - pro or con, because I think it is either up to the individual or doctor, but sometimes there is a breaking point, where you have to decide which way you want to go. I, too, believe in the quality of life sometimes taking precedence vs the severe side effects as long as it is not life threatening. I left one trial against the advice of my oncologist because of the side effects, and because at last there was a choice, and I chose to leave. Did I make the right choice? I think so, eight years later, I am still living and breathing and certainly have a better QOL than I had at the time. I have never met one person, either personally or online that said they didn't feel like they had cancer and had absolutely no fatigue or side effects. About the best I can say is that I think I am doing well for the shape I'm in. LOL. Blessings, Lottie
