I just got a Vitamix and am finding it difficult to start. So, I first did water

and ice. Just wanted to try it out. The dog freaked and jumped into my husbands

lap LOL. It was noisy as I moved up the dial. The important thing is, I used It.

I then made a smoothie using 1/2 cup strong tea, 1 peeled and seeded orange

quartered, 3 strawberries and one cup ice (in that order into the mixer).

Blended moving up t.o 10 and it frothed up nicely. It was a bit thick from the

orange. Next time I'll blend a bit longer. So that was my first try and it was

easy. Just dive in!

Key Lime Pie Smoothie1 cup liquid (water, unsweetened almond milk, unsweetened coconut milk, whatever)1 scoop whey or other protein powder1/2 T chia seeds (optional)1 to 2 cups fresh spinach (you can use other greens if you prefer)

1 cup frozen mango chunks1 T key lime juicestevia to sweeten (I use two scoops of Kal pure stevia extract)You can use the juice from half a regular lime if you want, but it won't taste like key lime pie--still good, though.  This is my favorite, and I make it a lot.  My kids love it, too.  Of course you can substitute greens, try different liquids--my teen often uses cow's milk, which makes it creamier but less like key lime pie to my taste, and use different protein powder or no protein powder.

The above recipe is exactly how I make it, and I love it.  :-)--
