Guest guest
It is great to have a health professional to give insight into these types of questions. What symptoms would prompt the doctor to suggest this test? No but we do them all the time at work. Not uncommon to find vegans short of protein, most pescatarians, lacto- or ova- vegetarians are good to go but not always. Meat eaters usually test to have plenty or an excess. Excess protein can (but does not necessarily) as well as a lack of protein, cause problems, particularly if there is some underlying problem (diabetes, poor kidney function, etc).I have no question about protein myself, have for 70 years been a consumer of leafy greens, non-pastureized and fermented dairy products, and nuts.SJ
