Guest guest
Hi Bobby - that is great news, slow but steady wins the race hey? Regards, from Downunder From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of ROBERTA DOYLE Sent: Thursday, 4 September 2008 1:21 PM Subject: [ ] Ann Arbor Hi All, just got back from Ann Arbor, at 10:30 pm, what a long day. Due to the holiday they were packed, had a dire emergency with one of their patients that held everyone up. i got there at 1:30 for a 2:00 appointment, and did not get infused until 4:30. long day. I tried a different anit nausea drug today, took two Granisetron, and it worked, I did not throw up. I felt a bit nauseous for about 20 min, but was able to go to dinner, eat a steak, and drive home, 175 miles. Did not get to see Len and Ernie, she was infused earlier,. Besides my buddy Len, and another buddy from home here, Ann, there was another fellow getting the XL228, so it seems to be getting a little more populalr. Funny, I am the only one that gets sick! Anyway, right now it is working for me, my qpcr was 6.5 in May, or was it 5.6, and is now .393, so that is good,. can't ask for anything better than that. Everyone have a great weekend, blessings, Bobby a (Bobby) Doyle Brecksville, Ohio, USA DX 05/1995 02/2000 - Gleevec Trial/OHSU 06/2002 - Gleevec/Trisenox Trial/OHSU 06/2003 - Gleevec/Zarnestra Trial/OHSU 04/2004 - Sprycel Trial/MDACC, CCR in 10 months #840 - Zavie's Zero Club 09/2006 - out of CCR 04/29/08 - XL228 Trial/ U.of Michigan 06/02/08 - CCR ( in 4 weeks)
Guest guest
Hi Everyone, tomorrow is Ann Arbor day and my daughter jean is supposed to take me. She called to day, said she had bad news, I thought someone had died. No, she said, no one died, she just couldn't take me to Ann Arbor. I thought, that's not bad news, that's great news. I called Ernie right away, and asked if I met them at their hotel would they take me to the cancer center , and pick me when I was through, then we could have dinner, I would spend the night, and we could have breakfast, and I would lealve, and it's all set. Now that's what i call good news. I drove home last week after the infusion, but I don't always feel that good, so if I go alone, I think it's better if I spend the night. I love the fact that my kids don't like me to go alone, in case something happens, but I hate them giving up an entire day when they all lead very busy lives. So, I am very happy to be going alone, and when I returen, I will go to my trailer on the way home, and meet up with one of my daughters and her boy friend, and we will camp out until Sun. pm, dog and all. I hope everyone has a great weekend, I sure intend to, Bobby a (Bobby) Doyle Brecksville, Ohio, USA DX 05/1995 02/2000 - Gleevec Trial/OHSU 06/2002 - Gleevec/Trisenox Trial/OHSU 06/2003 - Gleevec/Zarnestra Trial/OHSU 04/2004 - Sprycel Trial/MDACC, CCR in 10 months #840 - Zavie's Zero Club 09/2006 - out of CCR 04/29/08 - XL228 Trial/ U.of Michigan 06/02/08 - CCR ( in 4 weeks)
Guest guest
Hi Jackie and everyone, that was posted a while back, I don't take Ativan anymore, they have me on Granisetron, which works well, no more nausea. The infusions will go on indef-initely, it's a trial, you know how they go, if it works you stay on it until it doesn't. I am doing very well on it, Len however, is not doing that great, and they are going to infuse her every 5 days now. She has no side effects to speak of, and accepts this drug rather well. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers, they have been in Ann Arbor one year already. Len has planted beautiful purple flowers outside their motel room, and has tomatoes growing in the flower garden along the parking lot. Just like home..... Thanks for your good wishes, blessings, Bobby a (Bobby) Doyle Brecksville, Ohio, USA DX 05/1995 02/2000 - Gleevec Trial/OHSU 06/2002 - Gleevec/Trisenox Trial/OHSU 06/2003 - Gleevec/Zarnestra Trial/OHSU 04/2004 - Sprycel Trial/MDACC, CCR in 10 months #840 - Zavie's Zero Club 09/2006 - out of CCR 04/29/08 - XL228 Trial/ U.of Michigan 06/02/08 - CCR ( in 4 weeks) From: Schepman <vickistu (DOT) com> Subject: [ ] Re: Ann Arbor groups (DOT) com Date: Tuesday, September 16, 2008, 5:59 PM Bless you Bobbie It sounds like you are really having an ordeal. I also have Ativan (sp). A nurse came by and I asked her which would be better, she said take both, a lot of people do. So I did,. I didn't get infused for about an hour, it takes about 1 1/2 hrs. to finish. I did not throw up, I didn't really feel nauseous. But on the way home, it hit me. I remember very little of the almost 3 hr. drive. I came in the house, at 5, went to bed, got up at nine, had severe diarrhea 3 times, went back to sleep before 10, and slept until 8 . I have felt drugged all day long. My tongue is numb so the taste buds are on the fritz and that is good because I don't want to eat. But I will do one or the other next week, never both. > On a happier note I got to visit with my good buddy Len Paschal and hubby Ernie. She is doing well, we had side by side chairs yesterday 3 more doses and she goes up to my dose and I pray it does as well for her as it has done for me. > Now I am going to behave myself, no matter who comes into my house with pizza, chocolate covered nuts or even peanut butter suffle! Guest guest
I can't believe someone took Len's tomatoes. One time my Dad thought someone was stealing his tomatoes, but came to find out that it was " deer " . I think a human would have been easier to chase away!!
