I've been checking and looking for your picture, Greg. Maybe I have one

more rock to look under. LOL. Thank you for keeping us posted on your lovely

web site. Gosh, Carolyn would have been proud to see everything that is going

on posted on her web site. You are not only keeping her memory alive, but

helping others in their struggles. She is certainly someone we would want to

emulate. There ae some unsung heroes out there who really go out of their way

to bring attention to CML and how close they are to finding a real cure.

Everyone, please read the rest of this post, make note of it and then do

something to let Sen. Rchard Barr know what we think of his statements.

Dorothy Emery went to congress to testify and ask for more funding for

National Institutes of Health and National Cancer Institute. Mr. Personality

himself told her point blank that " we can't afford to be keeping people with

cancer alive. It's costing the taxpayers too much money. " Imagine the audicity

of a man in public office telling a woman with cancer something as sarcastic and

mean spirited as that. His own mother died of cancer.

Here is more of what he said: " We asked him about that and he backpedaled.

He mumbled something about signing that earlier but now he thinks we shouldn't

give so much to researchers. He gave a really stupid reason--he thought if we

gave them money they would never find cures as they would just want to keep

getting the money! I know a lot of researchers and there's not one I know who

is doing it for the money. He talked about them like they were a bunch of

WELFARE QUEENS. I told him that all the researchers I know would love to find a

cure and it drives them on. There is no danger that they are going to run out of

research projects--that's just a dumb idea. " This transpired in late June or

early July of 2008. Three cheers for Dorothy for standing up to this man.

Maybe he's in the wrong profession, maybe he should be an undertaker.

Here's some information on him and if you like what he said, write and

congratulate him, if not, tell him what you really think about him. He is now

in the senate and you are urged to send him a letter telling him how you feel

about his statement. Burr missed 254 (4%) of 6828 votes since Jan 4,

1995. You can't email that cutthroat from this web site, but there are some

phone numbers you can call and leave a message about what you think about his

statement. He even offers tours of his office. LOL One of the sites will have

his address, also if you want to send a private letter about his callused

answers.

I believe this is the one with faxes for all of his offices. Why don't we all

send him a letter or phone call? If you do, please post it for us to read.

That would really make everyone's day. Most of congress only accepts emails

from their own constituents, but we can circumvent that by using the phone and

faxes and the pony express if you think he's worth the 42 cents.

Get your quills out,

Lottie
