Guest guest
Suzie....before you cancel....and now that you have two reasons to come up...for some reason your travel dilemmas was on my mind today and I did dream up what could be a fairly easy fix.....good old Amtrak....high speed service between NYC and Boston....I even come in by bus to the same station in Boston.... I don't know what your travel plans were on the Carolina-NYC end or other factors...but the train ride is short and not too very expensive. Say the word and we can start looking into it. I am guessing a train would even be more comfortable that a car ride! Think about it...Cam
Guest guest
, Yes, for me the start of the whole downward spiral began as what I thought was hip pain...it felt deep in the hip...and evolved into sciatic pain and piriformis spasm....but at first I didn't realize it had anything to do with my back. It was only after I began my own search that I stumbled into a discussion on flatback and realized the whole relationship and sought out appropriate help. So yes, my local ortho's diagnosis of DDD and possible disc herniation was correct...but the reason for it and the correct solution had to be identified by someone who specializes in the treatment of those of us with long and old fusions! I am happy to report that I consider the revision surgery, which also addressed the sagittal imbalance a complete success...no more pain, walk upright as far as I want. I have found it to be a continued challenge to stretch and strengthen the flexors at the front of my hips. Clearly all the years of gradually stooping forward put additional load on that joint. I am confident you will see similar good results! Cam
Guest guest
Val...no pelvic pain...only one child...delivered vaginally. I do have two friends who had a condition where the babies heads forced open the joint at the front of the pubic bone and to this day it hurts them....the things we mothers endure! Guest guest
Hi Cam, I have one child also, they would not let me deliver vaginally. It must be that the pelvic ring could not return to place. To bad I couldn't get him to tuck that in while he is there Maybe, he will have no choice since he has to move it all to do the anterior work, ha! a free be > > Val...no pelvic pain...only one child...delivered vaginally. Guest guest
Hmmmm---sounds like me. I was having pain right in the middle of my pubic bone about a year after having my second child, and I asked my GP and he said the pubic bone is designed with two parts just for that purpose, to " expand " during birth. Well, almost 16 years later I still have pain occasionally right there. I don't know if this is/was truly caused from my daughter's birth, or it's just part and parcel of this progression of the flatback, etc.???!!!! Doctors sure don't seem to know, so I finally quit asking a long time ago!! Carol (CA) > > Val...no pelvic pain...only one child...delivered vaginally. One step at a time. You are right, I will feel so much better just knowing what is causing all of my pain and having some sort of resolution. I can deal with almost anything once I know what I am up against the not knowing drives me kooky! I am flying up on Thursday the 8th and my appointment is on Friday the 9th in his New Jersey office, I had to set it up that way so that I wouldn't have to try to get a ride to NYC. In the midst of all of this my husband dropped the bomb on me that he has decided to change careers and go back into the restaurant industry, he hasn't seen a paycheck in 3 weeks now....things are just totally upheaved with me and I am a train wreck. Guest guest
Wow! Three birthdays on June 25th? My God-daughter's bday is also the 25th and her mother, my best friend, was born on June 26th. I'll have to keep a close eye on my God-daughter's spine, eh? She's 14 and so far, so good. It's no wonder I like all of you so much! Happy day after the day after your birthday to all of you! Martha, we're getting dessert on Saturday to celebrate...and maybe a nice Mimosa with our brunch! kam

Guest guest
How fun that you and Pete share significant birthday years! It sounds like you chose a lovely way to celebrate. We were at a pool last night and I chuckled to myself quite a bit while trying to lean back in a hard plastic pool lounge chair. It's funny to note the moments that I realize those last few vertabrae really don't move anymore! I hope your chair proves to be quite comfy for you at the beach! kam
Guest guest
Kam, Oddly enough, using a chair that leaned back would have been uncomfortable last summer....for instance we have adirondack chairs in our garden and I really disliked sitting in them. Now they are fine. That ache is gone.....so no doubt you will be able to enjoy a sit by the pool before long! Thanks for the good birthday wishes! Guest guest
Kim, I completley understand the love/hate relationship with a therapist. I knew I was going to doing some " work " and she didn't let me " off the hook " or " slide " on much....something like taking cough medicine....tastes awful, but I had to do it!!! Take Care, Cam

Guest guest
Dear Judy, My thoughts and prayers are with you all in your time of such stress and needy prayers. Count me in, as I pray for all of you. You are absolutely right, none of this is fair. Life sucks sometimes - too much. Love, Lottie
