Guest guest
I had a rash biopsy done a few years after I got sick. The results identified the cause of my rash was vasculitis, essentially. The doc cut a plug out of my thigh were rash was present and slightly raised, and sent it off to the lab. He did it as much for education of medical students as he did for confirming Stills-induced vasculitis. The doc was a professor a UCLA. After he got the results, he had me come in so the students could poke me with sticks ( well, they just scratched me all over) and ask questions that I could not answer. -Brent rash I do have a quick question here. UMmmm....has anyone ever had a biopsy done on their rash? And if so what was the result? Has anyone out there been put on more meds to deal with their rash? Guest guest
Dear Katy, I've had rashes biopsied and it's their way of testing to see what it is, if it's bacteria, virus or yeast, so they will know how to treat it. They also look for pre-cancerous looking spots on the skin. It's good that you have taken care of your mamogram and your mysterious looking skin lesions. I had a mole near my hairline and when they biobsied it, said there were cancer cells in it. Not long after I was diagnosed with CML. I don't know if that was a forewarning or not, but the mole never presented a problem. We are at risk for getting secondary cancers, so we have to alert to anything that looks suspicious and I'm glad that you followed your instincts to get it " checked out " . I know you will heed the doctor's warning and stay out of the water until the coast is clear. Blessings, Lottie '
