Hi Guys; I was at my onc's yesterday and my WBC is 4.6 and my Neutrophils are at

2.0 so she said that on July 30th when I go for blood work I have to have this

Bcr-Abl test. She said this was a good thing . I think I might be on the right

I am currently on 800mg of Gleevec. Recently, I changed jobs and had

to go through the entire process of getting my Gleevec approved again.

As a result, I have been off of the Gleevec for five days. My

prescription will finally arrive in the mail tomorrow. Here is my

question for the group. I have to get a BCR-Abl on Monday. Will me

not taking the drug for five days impact the results of the test? I am

hoping/praying for good results.

Hi Manny,

Gleevec stays in the bloodstream for a number of days even when you're not

taking it. I was told when I was on 800 mg Gleevec that it would take 10 days

to get it out of my bloodstream.

Mentally, Oh Yea but physically maybe a little but I am only 2 weeks back on my
