Guest guest
So happy to hear all the good news, Matt. A good job in a good working environment with a good company with those all-important benefits is a wonderful thing! Cheers! [ ] Florida Update For anyone out there wondering, my last visit to Moffit showed my fourth straight test at PCRU. The issue with the blackout was most likely attributed to either taking in food to quickly after my Tasigna dose (you have to wait an hour afterwards) or a brief lack of oxygen due to nausea. The doctor called it something like " placacia " or something like that. The EKG was normal. I also accepted a job with a commercial bank that has outstanding benefits, including a very good health insurance and retirement option. The salary is a step back, but it is a wonderful company and the work it not as taxing as I have been used to. So I remain the captain of the Florida CML Army (honorary) until such a time as Joan, or anyone else from Florida wants to take that mantle. With the warmest regards, Matt CML of Florida Dx January of 2005 Gleevec March of 2005 Tasigna November of 2007 Number 1078 in the Esteemed Zavie Zero Club **************Looking for simple solutions to your real-life financial challenges? Guest guest
thanks for the laughter Matt but I think you would have to stand in line. I was thinking I could convince her to move to California where same sex marriage is legal( for now) and I'm straight. But she knows way more than my hem/onc. This last week has been very sad for me- a 43 year old friend went to bed and didn't wake up- heart failure. She left behind a 13 year old daughter. I couldn't help but think of my 14 year old daughter. We buried my friend, on Sat. So the laughter is much appreciated. > From: mtmaynor@... <mtmaynor@...> > Subject: Re: [ ] Florida Update > > Date: Monday, October 6, 2008, 10:03 AM > Yes, it was good news. Guest guest
Ha Ha you two. I would like to say you are right Tracey, but in fact we still have to pay $31.60 for our scripts through our Medicare system. The roos are cute as long as they don't attack you! Just like koalas, but don't stand directly under them or you may be rained upon! I hear that drugs are in fact free there.....and who can resist all those cute kangaroos! Tracey > > > > Yes, it was good news. Guest guest
Chi, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. It really puts things into perspective when you hear stories like this. On a lighter note, same sex marriages have been legal in Canada for quite some time now and I've also heard that there are areas where polygamy is tolerated. This of course means that both you and Matt can come to the great white north and we can all live happily ever after Tracey > > > From: mtmaynor@... <mtmaynor@...> > > Subject: Re: [ ] Florida Update > > > > Date: Monday, October 6, 2008, 10:03 AM > > Yes, it was good news. Guest guest
Tracey, I moved from PA to Ca to escape the snow. So I'll have to sit with the thought of a return. But maybe that is the answer- we'll kidnap Drs Druker , Cortez et al and start a CML commune in Canada.  Really you guys - I have laughed out loud at your posts... even our friend from Oz and her talk about the 'Roos and it really has helped to laugh.  I have BMB scheduled for November- hopefully things remain the same with no mutations. My life has been crazy busy...hopefully I'm headed for a slow down. Can't read all the posts but I am filing them away for a rainy day read.  Take care all Chi  From: Tracey <traceyincanada@...> Subject: Re: [ ] Florida Update Date: Tuesday, October 7, 2008, 7:37 AM Chi, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend.
