Guest guest
I agree, I have seen it help a couple of people. A child with leukemia, and a woman with cancer, and a man with cancer. One is a survivor, and two are with God now, but it helped all 3 ! DedeSee what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage.

Here in California, it is legal. I really wish it were legal everywhere so that more research could be done.... " Voters in California passed Prop. 215 in 1996, which decriminalizes medical marijuana. It is a state law. However, the Federal Government does not recognize Prop. 215, or the authority of the state to regulate the use of marijuana, medical or otherwise. Federal law preempts State law; as a consequence people in California have had criminal convictions and gone to jail for violation of marijuana laws under Federal statutes. Fortunately, standard practice in California is that if a someone has a " Prop. 215 Card, " which is a prescription by a doctor to use medical marijuana, police look the other way if a person is found to have a small amount of marijuana. Here's a link to a Wikipedia article on Ed Rosenthal who has been fighting the federal government's marijuana laws for many years: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_Rosenthal My personal opinion is that medical marijuana should be legalized by Federal statute. But the Federal Government doesn't care what I think ... about this other subjects. BeingIrish
Guest guest
Bindi, I can see using Marijuana in pill or liquid form, but smoking it isn't going to do the lungs any favors. Rogene
Guest guest
Rogene, You'd think that would be the case, wouldn't you? Interestingly, cannabis contains compounds that actually protect cells in the lungs, heart, brain, nerves, and elsewhere throughout the body, and is anti-tumorigenic. The links below are to articles in Scientific American and Washington Post about a recent study at the University of California that shows no relationship between cannabis smoking and lung cancer: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/05/25/AR2006052501729_pf.html http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?chanID=sa003 & articleID=0002491F-755F-1473-B55F83414B7F0000 & ref=rss The following link references many scientific studies on cannabis, with potential benefits for people with many conditions, including those conditons related to breast implants: http://ccrmg.org/journal/04spr/conditions.html The synthetic cannabis drug, Marinol, though it does have some benefits similiar to pure cannabis, also has many side-effects and is nowhere near as effective as cannabis. People who are worried about the smoke can use double-perc water pipes and vaporizers, which utilize water and steam to filter the smoke, or could also use cannibis-laced oils and butters. That said, as with any psychoactive substance, cannabis use should be carried out responsibly. Bindi
Guest guest
Bindi, I'm more concerned about emphasema than cancer. . . . My family genetics shows a predisposition for lung disease. We have a terrible time with airborne contaminents. I don't think smoking marijuana would benefit anyone with my genetics. If you've watched anyone in the end stages of emphasema, you know it's a horrible way to die. Rogene
Guest guest
Hello, Someone had asked if the marijuana makes me tired. The answer is yes, and no. I make my brownies with as little marijuana as I can. It is hard to know how much you will be getting in each brownie. I would take the brownie right before I went to bed. I just recently started putting a brownie out in the morning and take a little bite throughout the day. I am an A type so nothing really slows me down, until I run out of energy... The first week I ate one I found myself tired, a hard time standing, and couldn't talk to clients on the phone because my mind was fuzzy. The first day I found myself staring at the toilet saying, " my life has gone down the toilet " LOL One night I was watching TV and when food commercials came on... I found myself wanting to head down to Mc 's ;-) Now that it is in my system and I have been using very small amounts...I feel I function pretty well. I have to laugh...my brother is also on this forum. He tells me he would love to make some funny smart remarks about my post. I can feel one coming! LOL I love you little Brother! ;-) Kay
Guest guest
Hi Kay (sister) : Yes, I read your post....and I love you too. My recommendation would be to " have another brownie " and kick your feet up (avoid swelling) and get a bag of popcorn and a good movie going.....eat two brownies and you'll end up in your back yard talkin' to Elvis!!!!! See you next week. XXXXX OOOOO ie
Guest guest
When my husband was taking marijuana, he mixed it with melted butter as per his doctor's suggestion, and then froze it. We made him stop as he was getting way too lethargic: falling asleep in mid-sentence. He now takes provigil and effexor XR. Elinor

Guest guest
I found this medical marijuana story interesting, not for myself but for people who are suffering and need it for pain Anyway, I found this website that allows you to go to your state and country to find out if it's legal, if the state is lenient, and the penalties if it's not. I am not a proponent, but I think they could make exceptions if you have a prescription from your doctor. The government could dispense it and therefore keep tabs on who needs is medically. I know, more government meddling, but if that's what it takes, maybe they should consider it. O. K., everyone don't go to the site at once, it may crash. Guest guest
This is good news. What about for the parents of autistic children? Now that would be a major breakthrough in medical science, and make the rough patches so much easier to weather! Sorry, I couldn't resist.. I hope noone is offended by my sense of humor.  From: ELLEN BRONFELD <egskb@...> Subject: Medical Marijuana IPADDUnite Date: Monday, December 21, 2009, 1:45 AM  Hi all: There have been a couple of postings on medical marijuana regarding the possible benefits to children with autism. Illinois has, I believe, passed a bill in the House while the Senate bill is pending. My girlfriend just sent me an interesting article on medical marijuana that her son wrote for a college paper. He goes to school in California, where medical marijuana is legal.
