Guest guest
Hi -Since you are serious about taking this, I would recommend starting off at half the recommended dosage. Please, what ever you do, don't ever take more the recommended dosage. When this stack first came out, the Natural Body Building Ass. approved this supplement. It was one of the very few supplements that this organization allowed their members to use. Unfortunately, this product was misused. A lot of people had the, "more would be better" mentality. This product is extremely dangerous if you take too much. Also, some medications and some medical conditions can be dangerous. There are still some good reports that come out about this stack, but it's overshadowed by the negative reports. You cannot beat its ability to burn fat. Guest guest
Thanks Debbie! I read all of the side information plus some stuff online and I am only starting with 1 pill twice a day for at least a week. Today I did take 2 of them total. The only 2 things I notice about it is I go pee a lot..LOL so I know I have to drink lots of water so I don't get dehydrated. And the second thing I noticed is that I have more energy. Tae-Bo let me at ya!! LOL Re: Xenadrine Hi -Since you are serious about taking this, I would recommend starting off at half the recommended dosage. Guest guest
Thanks for this link, Tina. I go back and forth on whether I want to try xenadrine. And this was great information! :-) Cristi C1W8D4 Xenadrine > I would caution anyone about taking Xenadrine. It contains ma-huang, also known as ephedra, which has been linked to a large number of illnesses and even death in some people. Do some research on it before you start taking it. Many take it with no problem, but not everyone can. One place to start is: http://www.msnbc.com/news/522365.asp (about halfway down the page, it talks about ephedra and ephedrine in the section called " The Risks " ). > > Tina
Guest guest
See this is where too much information comes in. MuscleMedia April 2001 has an article that stated that Ephedra is safe. It cited a 19 trial study that concluded no adverse effects. It also stated that the few who had bad effects from it where shown to have taken more than the recommended amount. Who do you listen too? Brad (Dazed and Confused) :-) Re: Xenadrine > Thanks for this link, Tina. I go back and forth on whether I want to try > it. Many take it with no problem, but not everyone can. Guest guest
If you'd like something that has nearly the same ingredient content as Xenadrine but much cheaper, my wife and I use XetaLean which we buy at WalMart for around $17. We feel that it is as good a thermogenic as Xenadrine. Yours in strength, -danny
Guest guest
I listen to my body. I was hospitalized once because I couldnät stop throwing up from the ephedra. 6hours straight. I had gotten too much in my system in too short of a time period. Not fun, and I have been scared to take it ever since. --- Brad and Gizmo <bradr31@...> wrote: > See this is where too much information comes in. > MuscleMedia April 2001 has > an article that stated that Ephedra is safe. I can only speak for myself, but I cant take anything with ma-huang in it.... and unfortunately fat loss is my most needed thing. I bought some EAS Beta Trim, the serving size is 2 tabs 3xper day....they tell you on the bottle to start out at 1 tab 3xper day, then work your way up. I did that, I took 1 tab for weeks, 3x per day, and everything was okay. Then I got brave and upped it to 2 tabs on my second meal one day, (now mind you I only had 1 tab before that) and I got so sick! I have never done drugs, but I wonder if thats what I would feel like! I was dizzy, and naseaus, my skin tingled and I had the shakes...not the hand shakes, but an inward quaking. I also broke out in fever blisters on my lip, which usually only happens when I severely stress my body. The ma-huang amt for this product was 12mg per 2 tabs (one serving) and the caffeine was 99 mgs per serving. I guess what im getting at is that you must be VERY careful with this stuff. I have taken ephedrine products off and on in the past, knowing they made me feel revved, but nothing like this! If I had been driving my daughter in the car, we would have had to pull over for hours....it took me hours to get that stuff out of my system. And in reference to the MM article, I didnt even GET to the recommended amount, much less took too much..LOL ~~*who's losing weight the old fashioned way now! Guest guest
Here's another story. A friend of mine had a stroke at age 32 and is still paralyzed on 1/2 of her body, now 37. She was in perfect health (an accomplished athlete throughout college) other than carrying some extra baggage since working a routine office job after college. Is it worth it? I would rather do the BFL plan of eating balanced and working my tail off rather than have any side effects like this. But that's my opinion. Guest guest
You also have to look at the source of the information. MuscleMedia pushes EAS products, some of which contain Ephedra. Therefore, they have a fiduciary interest in convincing people that the product is safe. They aren't going to cite any evidence that shows that Ephedra may be a health risk. Okay, hide me from Deus, but I just started taking Methoxy-7 liquid. Its purported to be an anabolic supplement that helps with muscle growth and fat burning. It tastes really good, too, like vanilla flavored milk. I just started taking it yesterday so I'm not in a position to say whether or not it works yet, but it doesn't contain mahuang and seems pretty safe. I haven't had any adverse effects yet. Guest guest
Someone recommended looking at the benefits versus the side effects of this type of drug. If one of the side effects is possible death, what could possibly be a benefit? Yes the woman who lost over a 100 pounds on the CBS show last night looked great. Maybe that was because she was alive. I don't want to be a scaremonger but in my opinion, if different people have different reactions - some of them fatal, others like crippling strokes - there just wouldn't be enough fat on my bones to consider taking such a product. It was described by a doctor last night as a herbal form of Speed, so when mentioned she felt as if she could have taken drugs, it would seem that she wasn't far wrong. Probably lots of people won't suffer taken this as indeed many people didn't after taken Phen-Fen, but with the risks so high, it seems to me to be a dangerous game of Russian Roulette. My 2 cents worth. Leaner, 33% bodyfat and WORKING on it.

Guest guest
you really have to EASE into it. START by taking one ...3 times a day for 5 days then go off it for 2 days. The next week....start day one with the same dose as week one...then go to 2 pills for days 2-5 the off for 2 days. Three pills 3 times a day was WAY TOO MUCH for me. And you MUST take it early enough in the day so that you can sleep at night. Also...you've gotta get water into you...YES you'll be going to the bathroom every 1/2 hour and you should put some form of food into your stomach. I tried it once for a month.....didn't watch what I ate whatsoever and still lost 10 pounds. BUT...I've got to admit....I stopped taking it. The caffine/Eph. dose was WAY too HIGH for me...I always felt anxious . maybe you should consider just doing the ECA stack on your own that way you can control the amount of Eph./Caffine that you're putting into your body...JUST make sure it's LOWER than what's in Xenadrine. Guest guest
I agree that you have to consider that EAS is selling the stuff - why would they publish anything that showed ephedra could be a health risk? And, it's interesting that they NEVER published how great ephedra was until this year when they started selling it. I believe lots of old sayings and one of them is " where there's smoke, there's fire. " Sara You also have to look at the source of the information. Guest guest
Cheryl, I alternately use BetaLean and Hydroxycut (another ECA stack product). It's good that you started with a lower dose, that Xenadrine (or anything with an ECA stack) is powerful stuff! Increase your dose gradually to determine your threshold. I started out only taking 2 BetaLean per day and my threshold is 5 per day. Any more than that and I get the jitters and my coworkers start avoiding The Spaz's desk. LOL! I also only take it for the 5 days per week it recommends and take a week off every 12 weeks. I know alot of people feel that any product with ephedrine is unsafe, but I respectfully disagree. I think a lot of products have the potential to be dangerous if you don't use them properly. Just be careful that you read the warning label and don't overdo it.
