Guest guest
, I'm not using the Xenadrine to control my appetite - God knows I don't need that, and it doesn't seem to be curbing my appetite at all - it is a thermogenic and increases my energy during workouts and believe me I sweat a lot more with it - and I'm not usually a sweater! Anyone else have experience with Xenadrine? I chose Xenadrine as my trainer recommended it instead of Betalean. Cheryl

Guest guest
Naomi, I believe the difference between Betalean/Xenadrine and Metabolife is that Betalean and Xenadrine are time released, whereas the ephedra in Metabolife hits all at once - someone correct me if I am wrong. Guest guest
Thanks, Jen! I am following the guide of my trainer. He recommended that I start out with one in the morning prior to workout and one like around 3 pm. Then next week I'll take 2 before workout and 1 again at 3 p.m. Then the following week, if I tolerate that, I'll take 2 and 2 - not to exceed 4 a day. He said if i can't tolerate them at all, he would buy the bottle from me as I was hesitant to take the ephedra because of my experience with Metabolife. So far, So good. Guest guest
I believe there are 2 versions: one with ephedra and one without. I'd have the husband read me the ingredient label. You can probably find a bit out on the net as it is sold there and at healthfood stores...also advertised on TV. I have a 10 month post-op pt who started to take the dietary supplement over this weekend (I do not agree with this). I recieved a call from her husband this morning and he is very concerned. She woke up dizzy with a stomach ache. The husband is worried that she has physically messed up her stomach. Any suggestions about the side effects of this dietary supplement would be greatly appreciated. Guest guest
With or without ephedra, Xenadrine is a concentrated source of caffeine, which isn't recommended for GB patients. It can cause iron-poor blood further increasing the risk of anemia, and it is an irritant. At our practice, we worry it may irritate the stomach lining and cause it to bleed. However, that is more of a worry shortly after surgery. Kate Alie, M.S., R.D., L.D. Guest guest
Thank you Kate. This is the information that her husband is needing to convince her not to start the Xendarine and cycle of diet pills again.
