Hi ,

Here is a cream formula that I like very much. I have a formulary on my

website, as well as, tips for making cream and lotion. This is really just a

starting point though--you will want to try different things to see what you

prefer. You can find other formulas at www.theherbarie.com. If you have any

questions about this formulation or others, I will be happy to try to help

you out.

Smooth, Silky Sunflower Cream

This formulation combines the penetrating and conditioning qualities of

jojoba oil with the protective and moisturizing qualities of shea butter.

Sunflower Seed Extract is non-greasy and provides additional moisturization

and skin smoothing qualities. Has excellent “feelâ€.

Part A

Distilled Water 74.% = 370.0 g

Glycerin 5.0% = 25.0 g

Part B

Emulsifying Wax NF 8.5% = 42.5 g

Shea Butter 6.0% = 30.0 g

Jojoba Oil 2.0% = 10.0 g

Part C

Germall Plus (preservative) 0.5% = 2.5 g

Part D

Sunflower Seed Extract 4.0% = 20.0 g

Fragrance (optional)

Total 100.0% = 500.0 grams

Heat Part A to 75C/170F . Combine ingredients of Part B with mixing and heat

to 75C/170F. Add Part A to B with mixing and cool to 50C/122F (or less). Add

Part C and mix well. Add Part D with mixing at 40C/104F.

I am not familiar with sunflower seed extract. Is it a paste or oil?

Thanks, Leanna in Alberta.
