I love this method-used to use it all the time before I went gluten free, but it

works " okay " with gluten free type breads, but I find they are better just done

as a batter bread in the Vitamix. You might consider getting a solar oven for

baking your breads-I do ALL of my baking in my solar oven, letting the sunshine

do the work, and my kitchen stays nice and cool! Does an amazing job. If

anyone wants more info on solar ovens, and our " group buy " on them ($184

includes everything you need to cook solar, except the food, lol) email me at

berrywell@... I am doing a group buy this week, there are 3 more ovens

available at the $184 price.

I made that bread but not in the slow cooker. I'll have to check into that. I

make rolls using the artisan in 5 Recipe. I also do a lot of flat breads..pita,

pizza, tortillas, naan, that kind of thing. My oven goes for a hour or so almost

every day.

A slow cooker is also great for baking. I have a couple of "cake and bake" pans, which are round pans designed for baking cakes or bread in a slow cooker. They were popular in the 70's when slow cookers first caught on. I often do my rice crackers in my slow cooker.Sent from my iPadOn May 29, 2012, at 12:56 PM, Terry Pogue <tpogue@...> wrote:

were they the ones that were sort of a gold metal ??? I think I have one

tucked away in my ' appliance garage' i.e MY garage...heheheh

I never used it / it is brand new.. does it work ????????

I trust the authors to provide good accurate info.. they are really good at

doing that .. and I would LOVE to be able to plop them into a slow cooker and

forget it..

Might be fun esp during our long HOT summers we get here in Florida

YES-you got it-gold metal, with a lid that has vents and fits into 6 little

grooves. I have a large, medium and small one of them-certainly worth you

digging out and trying! Now that I solar cook, I won't turn on my kitchen oven

at all (haven't in years-now store my sprouting supplies in it, lol) or use the

crockpot. WAY better than heating up the house!
