I have the Creations Elite model with the 48 oz. container from QVC and am wondering if the 64 oz. container on the Vitamix site will fit this model? If not, I'm seriously considering returning it and opting for a different, more universal model. And I'll have to return it by Friday, so a little short notice on the question. Sorry.

Hello Kate,

I know the answer to part of this - the 5200 containers do not fit on the 3600 base.

Vitamix used to sell a plug for the 3600 to replace (eliminate) the spigot, but I don't know if they still do - they quit supporting that model (from what I've heard).

The sale on reconditioned Vitamix machines for $329 on a 3-payment plan is a pretty good deal - something to think about :-) If you decide to do this - contact me off list and I'll give you the ordering details so you get Free Shipping and a Free set of Spatulas with your order :-)

I don't want the spigot, period. Is there anything I can do to remove the spigot and plug the hole? Also, it didn't come with a tamper or recipe booklet/instruction booklet. Any ideas for those things? I don't want to break it during my first time turning it on.Also, a friend has the wet and dry containers for the 5200 that she doesn't want. Can I put those containers on the base for the 3600?Thanks!

Hello Pam - yes, the 64 oz. container WILL fit on the Creations Elite model motor base. If you call Kilbane at 800-848-2649 ext 2305 and give her this code: 08-0009-000399 you will get Free Shipping and because you only recently bought your machine, the 64 oz. container will run $99.The base is a good motor, and will do a great job with the 64 oz. container.

Thank you very much, Lea Ann, that is great news! I actually think I'm getting the hang of the machine. Listening to the sound of the motor and good lighting is essential, especially as I age LOL I've had two batches of perfect yogurt freezes, mango and raspberry. Now if I can master a frozen drink I'll be happy. Practice, practice, practice! I think once I get the proportions down I'll do fine, then I can get creative. All my life I've been searching for that "perfect" blender, I think I've finally found it. :o) Happy camper! Thanks for your patience and assistance through my learning curve. Hi B,

I believe I got the recipe from one of the Vitamix videos on their web site, Peach Yogurt Freeze. It's just one cup vanilla yogurt, and 3 cups or 1 lb. bag of frozen fruit. Of course you can swap out the yogurt flavor with something that might go with your fruit. If the fruit is in large chucks, let thaw for a few minutes, perhaps 5-10 minutes, before using. Then run the Vitamix from Variable 1 slowly up to 8-10, using the tamper when needed to push down the fruit. When you hear the motor whine a bit and see the "four pillows" appear, your yogurt freeze is done. Enjoy!

I need to add that this recipe must be for the Creations Elite model - with the 5200 you would have to "flip the switch to high" in order to make ice cream. With the Elite, the fan is always on, and variable 10 = high on the 5200…THANKS for sharing it Pam, and I'm glad that you're getting the hang of working your machine!

You are absolutely right, I do have the Creations Elite model. Thanks for clarifying that, I get so excited I forget that it is a newer and slightly different model than the rest.

I ground 8 oz. of coffee beans last night, it took about 15 seconds. Amazing! :o) I'm like a kid with a new toy!
