Guest guest
I have the Creations Elite model with the 48 oz. container from QVC and am wondering if the 64 oz. container on the Vitamix site will fit this model? If not, I'm seriously considering returning it and opting for a different, more universal model. And I'll have to return it by Friday, so a little short notice on the question. Sorry. Vitamix used to sell a plug for the 3600 to replace (eliminate) the spigot, but I don't know if they still do - they quit supporting that model (from what I've heard). The sale on reconditioned Vitamix machines for $329 on a 3-payment plan is a pretty good deal - something to think about :-) If you decide to do this - contact me off list and I'll give you the ordering details so you get Free Shipping and a Free set of Spatulas with your order :-) Blessings,Lea Ann SavageSatellite Beach, FL(321) 773-7088 (home)(321-961-9219 (cell)www.BlenderLady.com(AKA the Vitamix Lady :-)<))>< On May 29, 2012, at 4:33 PM, Kate wrote: I was gifted a well used Vitamix 3600. Guest guest
Thank you very much, Lea Ann, that is great news! I actually think I'm getting the hang of the machine. Listening to the sound of the motor and good lighting is essential, especially as I age LOL I've had two batches of perfect yogurt freezes, mango and raspberry. Now if I can master a frozen drink I'll be happy. Practice, practice, practice! I think once I get the proportions down I'll do fine, then I can get creative. All my life I've been searching for that "perfect" blender, I think I've finally found it. ) Happy camper! Thanks for your patience and assistance through my learning curve. Guest guest
Hi B, I believe I got the recipe from one of the Vitamix videos on their web site, Peach Yogurt Freeze. It's just one cup vanilla yogurt, and 3 cups or 1 lb. bag of frozen fruit. Of course you can swap out the yogurt flavor with something that might go with your fruit. If the fruit is in large chucks, let thaw for a few minutes, perhaps 5-10 minutes, before using. Then run the Vitamix from Variable 1 slowly up to 8-10, using the tamper when needed to push down the fruit. When you hear the motor whine a bit and see the "four pillows" appear, your yogurt freeze is done. Enjoy! Guest guest
I need to add that this recipe must be for the Creations Elite model - with the 5200 you would have to "flip the switch to high" in order to make ice cream. With the Elite, the fan is always on, and variable 10 = high on the 5200…THANKS for sharing it Pam, and I'm glad that you're getting the hang of working your machine! Guest guest
You are absolutely right, I do have the Creations Elite model. Thanks for clarifying that, I get so excited I forget that it is a newer and slightly different model than the rest. I ground 8 oz. of coffee beans last night, it took about 15 seconds. Amazing! ) I'm like a kid with a new toy!
