Guest guest
Hi Everybody, We certainly had a very diversified group of replies to rolling veins, and a new trial, wherein you would stop treatment altogether. I seem to remember that Gioria didn't stay off Gleevec completely, but took it on alternating weeks, is that how it was? I suppose if someone wants to try it for the sake of getting off drugs altogether, they would have to be willing to take the risk. As I said in a previous post, I do know someone who got off INF and has not suffered any consequences. Perhaps INF has acted to " protect " you for the 3 1/2 yrs. you took it, , like a vaccination. It's an interesting concept nonetheless if you can find a willing patient. Dr. Talpaz developed Inteferon, so he knows more about it than most; he may have something there. I know it's not a new concept, but how many takers will be willing to try it is unknown. To Ann Grimm: I'm so sorry that you have been hospitalized and having so many problems with sticks. I understand how uncomfortable that must be for you. Sometimes I just tell the phlebotomists to go get someone who knows what they are doing. I've had my share of lumps where they penetrated a muscle. Some are novices and others are very good technicians, but I always remember the ones who hurt me most. I'm sure other members will join with me by lifting you up in prayer, so that your pancreas and heart will begin to function properly. Your 2 cents are always welcome, but you understimate the value of your experience, it is always worth so much more. LOL What you describe with the pain sounds like my body crying out when I need blood, but you said your counts were o.k. Could this be a good time to talk to your doctor about changing your meds to one of the newer drugs? I don't remember exactly what it is you are on, but it sounds like you need a change. Blessings, Lottie
Guest guest
I'm with you Lottie, in terms of prayer! That really helps more than anything. We can never get enough. I stand in agreement about the pancreas and heart functioning properly for Ann--May it be so. It is a long hard road, but the things we go through make us stronger and give us something to give to others going through the same or similar things--we can comfort others. Hugs to you all, Vicki > > Hi Everybody, > We certainly had a very diversified group of replies to rolling veins, and a new trial, wherein you would stop treatment altogether.
