Guest guest
I started Tasigna about 6 months ago and was taking 400mg. about 2 months ago my pcr came back 0.032 so they increased it by 200mg. well after going through 3 PCR testing and the results not coming back for some reason or another. Lab messed up, (quest) my lab didn't actually take it, and some other reason---i finally had one done last week and my Dr. just called me and I am at 0% !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so so excited. But this bothers me, but only because I don't understand the log reduction stuff--it says " Negataive result in patiens being treated for CML represent at least 5 log reduction. " ..5 log reduction??? is that good or bad????? I know 3 is what we look for --what is a 5 log reduction??? My last test (6/08) says 2.11 log reduction. help someone... Guest guest
Congratulations Sharon! That's awesome news. When it comes to log reductions, the higher the number, the better. Remember, the number is a reduction in cancer cells so that means the more you reduce, the less you have. A 2 log reduction is a good result, a 3 log reduction is a better result, and a 5 log reduction is the best result.
