Guest guest
Dear Judy P., Happy Thanksgiving to you up there! I still remember my first Thanksgiving after dx and you telling us you could smell all our turkeys cooking up there! It just struck me funny then and it still does. So what are you cooking up there?? Have a great day! Lynn F. [ ] Thanksgiving Thanks To all Canadians who are celebrating Thanksgiving - a very happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Skip - I'm sure glad you are home to enjoy Thanksgiving - hope your recovery is smooth. This last blood draw I was wishing I had a port. My word, I told the gal I have small, rolling veins and could she use the smallest needle possible - i.e. pediatric. Ok, so the arm didn't work with the regular needle and by the time she had poked and prodded around in my arm, she couldn't go back in with a pediatric needle. Alas, next came the top of the hand. She used a peds needle but in poking around lots of blood leaked out into the top of my hand and formed a huge bump. I was sure glad my onc's nurse got a rubber glove and filled it with ice. That helped reduce the bump by quite a bit but it stung for about two weeks. I won't ever be " entitled " to a port because I only go every three months for a blood workup. So, folks, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
