Guest guest
To all Canadians who are celebrating Thanksgiving - a very happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Skip - I'm sure glad you are home to enjoy Thanksgiving - hope your recovery is smooth. This last blood draw I was wishing I had a port. My word, I told the gal I have small, rolling veins and could she use the smallest needle possible - i.e. pediatric. Ok, so the arm didn't work with the regular needle and by the time she had poked and prodded around in my arm, she couldn't go back in with a pediatric needle. Alas, next came the top of the hand. She used a peds needle but in poking around lots of blood leaked out into the top of my hand and formed a huge bump. I was sure glad my onc's nurse got a rubber glove and filled it with ice. That helped reduce the bump by quite a bit but it stung for about two weeks. I won't ever be " entitled " to a port because I only go every three months for a blood workup. So, folks, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Hugs, Judy P. in Calgary __________________________________________________________________ Canada Toolbar: Search from anywhere on the web, and bookmark your favourite sites.
