Guest guest
Cathleen, I remember when I had shingles about 10 years ago. Now wouldn't it be great to get them on the feet where you wouldn't feel them?? Nope mine were on my back and it hurt. Looking back now it was the same feeling as an EMG because I could still feel the nerve damage for weeks even after the shingles were gone. I totally sympathize with you! Best wishes for a speedy healing! Elaina.
Guest guest
Thanks Elaina!! My shingles are on my back, side and breast. Yes it would be nice if they were on my legs feet or hands then I wouldn't feel the pain. Oh well as my dad says, " a hundred years from now I won't know the difference. " Keep smiling it makes people wonder what you have been up to!!!! Cathleen
Guest guest
Bobbie I also get shingles - another reaction however did have a bout of shingles prior to CML and glivec I take a drug called Voltrex - fantastic - stops the inflamation and redness - stops the blistering in shingles tracks. Make sure you are very clean if you have shingles - do not touch with hands - use cotton wool buds or gauze - to cover. Do not get the blisters moist Zinc cream is good for shingles as well - If out in the sun make sure you cover up as the sun can also trigger shingles if you have had an attack previously Do not touch mouth, eyes, nose ears or any other place if you have shingles - highly contagious to one self and to other people if you kiss them etc. Think back and see if there were any other triggers excluding glivec and other medication. My friend had shingles in his hair - how awful is that - he said his head felt like one giant headache and itchy at the same time. Hope you are feeling better. That's why we are here. Side effects are no fun. I am still having pain from my shingles. I try not to complain, but when I tell my spouse that I am going to have more injections of Cortisone and lidocaine to get rid of the pain, he doesn't understand. I know I am a pain for complaining about a numb tongue, but honest, it is weird, all food has no texture, and feels slippery, and no taste.
