Guest guest
Dear Earl, I have not had a problem with getting my blood work done with Medicare. If there is something they they say is not medically necessary, they deduct it from the amount they pay Medicare. I can see why you have a problem with your secondary. They never have a co-pay if Medicare refused to pay. Every 6 months is not excessive. You have have gotten someone who doesn't know better, so maybe this is something your congressman can clear up for you. They are elected to help you, so don't hesitate to ask for help. Maybe the person who represents you in congress can find out if there is another code. I was in a hospital and they didn't have the right code and tried to make me pay for it. I called Medicare and they told me they would call the hospital and straighten the bill out. Next day, I had a call from Medicare saying they took care of it and the hospital called and said they decided I didn't have to pay for it. Another time, I told the billing clerk and coder to call someone else in the same type medical office and ask them if they had the same problem and they gave them the proper code. Good luck. It's almost as bad as someone stealing your identity, isn't it???? Blessings, Lottie
Guest guest
Hi Dottie: That information you gave should be helpful to a lot of us. I am not on Medicare yet, but everything you said makes the most sense I have heard so far. I told Earl to check further and to fight it if they insist he has to pay. The coding is so important because thats how they determine payment. I hope they just coded his testing wrong. So glad we all have each other here to get advice and share.
