I have read it in several articles and heard it verbally from a friend. Too bad England and all have not read the same articles. love and peace Kiasi
Guest guest
Kenzie, Nothing needs to be done for hoof & mouth disease. This is more bogus science at work. H & M amounts to a cold with cold sores for the animals that get it. Less than 5% die from the disease. The rest get over it in 2 weeks. Humans can not get it, but even if they could, they would get cold sores, nothing more. Humans can even eat the meat of a cow that died of H & M. This is NOT antrax, folks, barely more than a common cold. Chicken Little is afoot. The last time England slaughtered its livestock for hoof & mouth was in the 1920's. There weren't enough people to do the job, and many herds were spared because the killers from the government couldn't get there until the animals recovered. The farmers were then irate that so many had been slaughtered for nothing. This will happen in Argentina because they have decided there are too many animals there to slaughter, so their herds will recover and they will have almost the only beef left in the world. It would be hilariously funny if it weren't so tragic. jim Kenzie wrote: > > Hello, > > This article equates Hoof and Mouth disease with Anthrax. > > What bio-oxidative therapy could be used to fight this? > > I very much appreciate your professional opinion. > > Yours in Freedom, > Diane > > http://www.sierratimes.com/archive/starticles/2001/mar/arjj031701.htm ----- carpe diem, carpe pecuniam, carpe feminas. -- Jim Lambert jlambert@... http://www.entrance.to/madscience http://www.entrance.to/poetry
Guest guest
So Jim The pictures that I saw on the news that showed large amounts of dead animals, did they die from hoof and mouth or from being euthanized? Guest guest
Donna, I don't like to use euphemisms like euthanasia, especially for mindless, wholesale slaughter. I am not particularly an animal rights person. I don't believe in mistreating animals or people, but I am pretty philosophical about life and death. But, killing animals for having a cold is obcene! Whatever you saw was animals that were killed. Hoof and mouth didn't make those pictures. It takes humans to create that kind of gruesome scene! jim Donna wrote: > > So Jim The pictures that I saw on the news that showed large amounts of dead animals, did they die from hoof and mouth or from being euthanized? > > Donna ----- carpe diem, carpe pecuniam, carpe feminas. -- Jim Lambert jlambert@... http://www.entrance.to/madscience http://www.entrance.to/poetry
Guest guest
Well, I wondered. They did not make that apparent when showing the photos. They led you to believe that they were all ill and falling down dead and having to be removed. How horrible. Thanks for clarifying.
