I am on 800 mg, broken up into two

doses during the day. I have the following

side effects:

Muscle Cramping

Constipation

Bone Pain

Upper Back Pain

Fatigue

Double Vision

I have found that for me, these are not

near as severe or as constant as they

were with Gleevec. The bone pain is not

near as frequent, but it is more severe

when it happens.

I have tried taking electrolytes (including

Gatorade), but found that just increasing

my intake of water and trying moderate

exercise to sweat toxins out of my body

have helped the most.

Peace to all.

With the warmest regards,

Matt

Hello all you warriors!

I am curious, those of you on tasigna. I have been on 400 mg a day

since january. Until about a month ago, I felt like I was on a

honeymoon with the drug. I am beginning to experience muscle cramping

in my hands and feet. This is a first with the drug. In all the

reading I have done, I do not see where it is mentioned as a side

effect. I also take diazide for fluid build up around the knees,

joints and things. I do read that fluid retention is a side effect but

slight. If I don't take the diazide, I hurt. I am wondering if anyone

else on tasgina is having these side effects. I have been sooooo good

for soooo long and I am just a bit scared that those nasty side

effects I had with gleevec are going to return with Tasigna...

Anyone have any input?

Blessings on you all,

Barb

Barb,

I have been on 800mg of Tasigna for a year now. 400 in the morning and 400 12

hours later. My main side effects are pain in my legs, it is constant and I was

sent to a rhuematologist to check out if the pain was from something else. He

ran just about every test possible and found no cause other then a possible side

effect from Tasigna. I had surgery in July and was off my Tasigna for 21 days

and my leg pain went away totally for that amount of time. The pain came back

about 2 days after restarting my Tasigna.

I also have some fatigue and some pain in my arms if I over do it.

Hope this helps.

Chuck

I have been on Tasigna since the end of March, 2008.  I have had no side effects

until my last visit to Moffitt Cancer Center on Sept 4, 2008.  I started Tasigna

with 400mg, followed by 600mg and then 800mg.  A recent blood test at Moffitt

showed an increase in the Lipase

level.  Referance range is 23-300 but my leverl is 426.  It indicates a problem

with the Pancreas so instead of going back to Moffitt at two to three months, I

must return in one month. My dosage has been reduced to 600mg.  I guess there

will always be some expected problems with these very powerful drugs.

He is always willing to listen to me and he answers all my questions in a way

that I can understand  I am very pleased with him.  On my first visit, I had a

very hard time understanding him but that is no longer the problem.  We are very

lucky.

Sharon,

So glad to see the BIG FAT ZERO! Did you reach this on tasigna or were

you on gleevec before?

I think I am going to find I will be able to lose about 10 pounds and

not much more. I think Tasi is the culprit of most of the weight. We

will see.

Any hoo..... I am going to give it the old college try.

Be well all of you,

Barb
