Guest guest
Dear , Golly gee, , I want you to be my press secretary. That was a wonderful letter to Sharon on behalf of Gleevec. Yes, Bobby and I have been on many drugs and are still struggling to climb that ladder to PCRU (not even close). We can't leave dear Len Paschal out of this, she has been struggling as long as I can remember and had to submit to chemotherapy at Duke University for a while before she could even try the XL228. Len doesn't give up and neither does Dr. Talpaz. She and Bobby have made friends with the others on the XL228 drug over at Ann Arbor. We all met when we were in the BMS trial. When you sit around all day on clinic day and back then, it was all day, you soon learn everyone who's on the drug and you hang out away from the clinic, too. We all had some wonderful times together and who wouldn't have a good time with Bobby and Len's husband, Ernie and the original man who started his blog with Gleevec and then with BMS, Jerry Mayfield. Jerry said he ate his way around Houston, he was there so long, and not any of them would turn you down if you asked them for a favor. Len is as sweet as Ernie is comical. He could make a statue laugh. Bobby is not about to let a little statistic get in her way, she is ready for freddie. She was in a trial in California, the Gleevec trial with Dr. Druker, the BMS trial in Houston and now the XL228 in Ann Arbor. She has really made the rounds. Did I miss any, Bobby? She will let me know. I know you have been around long enough to see successes and failures and you prevailed because you didn't give up. My mother used to tell me that the only people who failed were the ones who stopped trying. I guess I'm stubborn, too. She never let us say " I can't. " She said that word was not in the dictionary. I'm not saying that I never feel down some days, but I try to stay positive 99% of the time. Stay positive, xoxox Lottie
Guest guest
You guys are an inspiration to me! I only hope when I have had CML for a few more years and have been through a few more treatments that I can remain as energetic and encouraging to others as you all do. You have helped me cope in so many ways, I can't even tell you! Thanks so much for being there for the rest of us. Love and hugs, God Bless you all!
