Guest guest
Hi, Michal again. Having read my copy, and realizing I sound a little like a brat, I must add that though my partner is willing to consider moving other places, he is very unhappy about the idea, and though I understand, it is something else I have to work against. But he at least is willing consider it-I just have to pull teeth, bless him. --- Michal <michalvictoria@...> wrote: > Hi, > > I'm just reaching out for some solidarity and > comfort > because I am sitting here with sobs in my chest, > feeling totally overwhelmed and alone...I have moved > and moved as many of you have and the place I'm > renting now, as soon as the rains started, I started > getting those awful symptoms I know so well. Guest guest
sorry your going through this, theres not anything to easy about getting this illness,if you fell better when you are out aeay from there thats a starting point for you to consider. washing your sinuses a few times daily may be a good idea. if I'm thinking right, haveing lyme disease may make you more suceptable or have some of the same effects, cant remember. some become so reactive it just doesn't help to try to get rid of the mold. whatever you do, you need to not be there while those repairs are takeing place as it gets stirred up even more. > > > Hi, > > > > I'm just reaching out for some solidarity and > > comfort > > because I am sitting here with sobs in my chest, > > feeling totally overwhelmed and alone...I have moved > > and moved as many of you have and the place I'm > > renting now, as soon as the rains started, I started > > getting those awful symptoms I know so well. Guest guest
oh, good point, about reacting even when the mold is gone, and not being there during repairs. Didn't even think of that, thank you! --- who <jeaninem660@...> wrote: > sorry your going through this, theres not anything to > easy about > getting this illness,if you fell better when you are > out aeay from > there thats a starting point for you to consider. > washing your > sinuses a few times daily may be a good idea. if I'm > thinking right, > haveing lyme disease may make you more suceptable or > have some of the > same effects, cant remember. > some become so reactive it just doesn't help to try > to get rid of the > mold. whatever you do, you need to not be there > while those repairs > are takeing place as it gets stirred up even more. > >
Guest guest
I can relate to family not understanding the need to move. My husband and I moved into a apartment that we know was damaged by a roof leak. It was supposed to be gutted and redone but looks can be decieving. I have been ill with something, Bronchitis, sinus infections, respititory infections one right after another without a break since we moved in 6 months ago. The previous 3 months we were put into another apartment with the same situation by the company we at the time worked for. So I have been exposed to potential molds for almost a year now. It has been the last 6 months that really got me ill. Hospitalization, shrinks, meds that don't work, you name it. I am so frustrated because I want to move out and at least try to retain what health and energy I have, yet my husband is not budging. He wants to remain until our lease is up because otherwise we would have to use a buy out to break our lease. That is $2100 we do not have. Even if we remain, I am not sure he will leave. He has no issues so apparently I am the one who is NUTS! SO I can relate to your frustrations. I am slowing trying to talk to him and I print out several of these articles to show him that others like me are suffering. That this is a valid reason to move. I am afraid to go to a new place because I too am on a fixed income. We struggle with this rent, and if I were to go to a " cheaper " rent, I risk older homes and I am sure more mold. Not only dealing with this illness, but having to deal with finding a safe environment is enough to cause anxiety up the yang yang. Stay strong, have faith and pray alot. That is what I am doing each day. who <jeaninem660@...> wrote: sorry your going through this, theres not anything to easy about getting this illness,if you fell better when you are out aeay from there thats a starting point for you to consider. washing your sinuses a few times daily may be a good idea. if I'm thinking right, haveing lyme disease may make you more suceptable or have some of the same effects, cant remember. some become so reactive it just doesn't help to try to get rid of the mold. whatever you do, you need to not be there while those repairs are takeing place as it gets stirred up even more. Guest guest
Thanks, Deb, for sharing your story with me. I'm so sorry this has been so hard on you, too. It helps me to hear from others who are living on a fixed income and have to go through this.. Since I last wrote, the owner of this place took the situation very seriously. He doesn't totally get me, but he is caring enough to want us to be comfortable here..he actually ordered air samples to be done here..they already had a tester in to detect moisture behind the walls, and he's willing to get the roof, attic and crawlspace looked at...thing is, he doesn't quite understand that since the place is built on a concrete slab and the only thing between the carpeting is a carpet pad, that that might be the source. However, as long as he's willing to work at it , I am too...I now have to deal with putting all suspect furniture in storage before they do the air sample, and my partner (who has a back problem, fighting cancer etc-admittedly) is already complaining. I swear to god I love him to death and really he has been for the most part supportive, but if this area is just a wash, I hope I have the cohones to start packing for Arizona, and if he wants to come with me, great! Course that's usually when they mobilize! LOL! --- Deb Crum <pookiebear_44144@...> wrote: > I can relate to family not understanding the need to > move. Guest guest
Hey we have to stick together in this you know. There is strength in numbers they say. At least your landlord is willing to do that. Mine is not. It is either move into another apartment of the same complex or move out. If we break our lease now with 6 months to go, I would have to pay at least 3-4 months up front of our rent. I think that is so unfair as I did not ask to have MY health put in jeaporady, yet they are asking me to pay the penalty. Hubby will come around I am sure if enough doctors tell him and I that what ever is the culprit that is causing these health symptoms is not eliminated soon, I will be really sick. Guest guest
Michal, Go to Lowes and get some mold plates. there 8 bucks.Set them out for 1 hr follow the instructions. If there are more than 4 colonys growing its time to move. Dr Marinkovich and Dr Gray say if you are sick from mold you can't get better in living space with 4 or more colonys. It would also be good for you to know for sure. Not all Mold tester are qualified. Regards a Deb Crum <pookiebear_44144@...> wrote: Hey we have to stick together in this you know. Guest guest
Whoa, thanks, I didn't know where to get the mold plates myself! I actually did get them from my doctor and did the testing-that's what got the owner involved in the first place. My doctor said to test with the air purifier on so we could see how it was working. Most rooms showed 3-4 colonies, one showed 5, but the bedroom showed a whopping 24+! That's why the owner is going to take air samples next. In the meanwhile, I put an add in Craigslist, and I'm looking, but I have to be careful not to go from the frying pan into the fire..I'm on a fixed budget and my credit is messed up from being sick..so I'm trying to do it all with the resources I have..LOTS of prayer... I will say I am much healthier now that the rains stopped and the weather's been dry... --- a Townsend <kmtown2003@...> wrote: > Michal, > Go to Lowes and get some mold plates. there 8 > bucks.Set them out for 1 hr follow the instructions. > If there are more than 4 colonys growing its time to > move. Guest guest
That can't be legal. Isn't your landlord breaking some law by forcing you to pay when the apartment he provided is putting your health in jeopardy. Would doing mold plates and showing him the results, then threatening him with legal action do anything? Maybe consult a lawyer first...that is outrageous. Yeah, hubby will come around. He's probably being affected in ways he doesn't realize. I know my guy is more irritable, and unable to sympathize with me because he's defending himself all the time as his nervous system is being attacked by mold-I recognize that " I have just enough to get myself through the day " pose-I get it myself. Just wondering.. You have my solidarity. --- Deb Crum <pookiebear_44144@...> wrote: > Hey we have to stick together in this you know. > There is strength in numbers they say. Guest guest
Dear Jill, I can appreciate your letter about having the reference material, but I have to add that the responses of our fellow CMLers in reaching out has been even more valuable to me. It's like saying, " Hey, look at me, I have CML and I've made it thus far, and so can you. " The stories of those who came before us has been invaluable. My CML buddies Bob, Bobby, Barb Stanley, Margot, are all people I have relied upon to help me over the rough spots, they are part of my earlier history. Now they are friends who just happen to have CML. Who can forget Zavie with his Yipees and s and Tracey who can paraphrase something faster than we can read it. Our longest living member with CML is Skip who I would consider an icon in the CML world. There are the special people I have met like Gay, who was the first person to reach out to me online, or Rhonda who invited me to stay with she and her daughter during Hurricane Gustav. There is no accounting for the acts of kindness and thoughtfulness of people who call me regularly and send me " care packages " . I have to mention Annie, because she is not the patient, her son is, but she and opened up their home to us when we passed through, and the sharing goes on and on. I also met Anita Wristen and her family who were so gracious to us. I am glad they are all safe, since they were affected by Ike and lost power like the rest of us here. There are still others I am destined to meet in the future. I met Genie in New Orleans last April and Barb Heathcote last year in Houston. Actually meeting someone is like super glue that holds your friendship together for a long time. If anyone is passing through New Orleans, we will jump in the car to go and meet them. While I send blessings to eveyone, I feel I am the one who is really blessed, Lottie
Guest guest
> > please everyone, > i am reaching out to everyone who has a kid with precocious puberty. what is actually helping? can it be reversed? --- One possibility, in a girl, is damage to the HPA axis causing adrenal insufficiency, the adrenals work harder to put out more cortisol, and testosterone is produced as a by product. --- Have a hair test. Test for hormones. If the child has no amalgam fillings do a trial of chelation with Andy's protocol and see what happens. If mercury is the cause, removing the mercury with proper ALA chelation is the solution. Adrenal support plus the usual supplement support will be needed during chelation. --- Or ask Andy. --- J please i am so new to this and so worried. having to deal with this in my daughter as well my 3 year old with ASD is overwhelming > catherine >
Guest guest
Hi , I've been through this with my daughter and was able to stop things with Andy's help. In her case, the cause was her overworked adrenals, which were causing the productions of estrogens. We ran tests on her hormones and her levels were all normal (except cortisol which has always been drastically low), which suggested that she was having irregular bursts of sex hormones (as opposed to constant levels I suppose). The remedy for her included a substantial increase in adrenal support. I've found it particularly important to give lots of Vit C steadily throughout the day (she gets 4 g in 500 g doses daily), B5, adrenal cortext extract (she gets 5 caps daily), magnesium, licorice. Also very key for my daughter was to take small physiological doses of hydrocortisone. This is actually what seemed to stop the signs of precocious puberty right in their tracks. But, cortisol is not recommended for children and I would not have given this without Andy's guidance and that of a local doctor. My DD also takes DIM and calcium-d-glucarate daily which help eliminate excess estrogen. The above treatment is something that I plan to continue until puberty. Here is a post from Andy on this subject, look at others in the same thread for more information: http://onibasu.com/archives/am/236512.html From what I understand, treatments using Lupron also work, but you would need to run tests first to see where the problem is to decide if Lupron is the right treatment. Feel free to write privately if you want more info. > > please everyone, > i am reaching out to everyone who has a kid with precocious puberty. what is actually helping? can it be reversed? please i am so new to this and so worried. having to deal with this in my daughter as well my 3 year old with ASD is overwhelming > catherine >

If you suspect that the adrenals are part of the problem for your daughter, then you should start right away increasing the supplements that you have on hand that can help. I've found that frequent dosing of supplements is so important for adrenals to keep support available in the blood as much as possible and I've seen this benefit in my children and experienced it firsthand. We all take time-released vitamin C here and I give this to my children in the morning before they leave for school and also at bedtime. Personally, I feel so much better as a result of higher dosing of C. If you have ACE on hand, you can also consider giving often, including in the evenings or at bedtime. This doesn't seem to work for everyone, but here it is useful. Perhaps it's a question of the degree of strain that is placed on the adrenals for each person, but in a case where adrenal stress is contributing to early puberty, I would guess that maximal support is desirable. (But if you haven't tried ACE yet, start low & increase as needed.) Also, stress and lack of sleep strain the adrenals a lot. I saw this clearly with DD whose puberty symptoms started in late winter and continued through the spring, then stopped over the summer (when we had a great, stress-free vacation where she slept in every morning) and resumed again in the fall when school started. It's no coincidence. I've sent you a private message with more details. I would suggest talking to Andy about this since he understands this area well. I can understand your anxiety about this, but rest assured there is something that can be done to help your daughter.
Guest guest
feel free to email me off list on the subject. Our daughter had what we thought was precocious puberty and it turned out to be an adrenal disorder which is treatable. It is very important to get proper hormone saliva testing done, among other things, so that you know exactly what you are dealing with. Take care, olivia > > > > please everyone, > > i am reaching out to everyone who has a kid with precocious puberty. what is actually helping? can it be reversed? please i am so new to this and so worried. having to deal with this in my daughter as well my 3 year old with ASD is overwhelming > > catherine > > I just had a few more thoughts to share on this. > > If you suspect that the adrenals are part of the problem for your daughter, then you should start right away increasing the supplements that you have on hand that can help.
