Guest guest
jeanie: i am so sorry about your hbt. i have had three transfusions. they give you medicines before to help with acceptance and usually you don't feel a thing. i did feel a little flush once. if you do have pancreatitis you will know it. i just had it in August and i couldn't stand the pain. the enzymes were not elevated but my pancreas was enlarged on the CT Scan. the barium ct isn't bad, it's just getting the stuff down. i like to use a straw and bypass my taste buds all together and has to be cold. in NY they had flavored which they don't have here in NE. do you still have your gallbladder. i had mine removed in 1989 and it is about the same pain level as that. god bless you as you go through this and if they tell you not to eat anything don't it will only aggevate your pancreas. i will be going in for my heart cath tomorrow. i'm a little scared but what the heck. my heart seems to have gotten a little broken since all my hospitalization. it's enlarge for sure they just don't know why. they still don't know why my pancreas was inflamed. i guess they never will. good luck and my prayers are with you. ann grimm 48 years old cml dxd 2002 gleevec 2007 sprycel 2008 [ ] bad news today got to have transfusion Hi all, I got some bad news today. The Doctor called and said I need a transfusion. My hemg was 7.7. My counts other than that all went back to normal. Also the bad stomach pain might be pancreatitus. They found my liapaze to be 153; way high, so they are doing and barium ct scan tomorrow. I spent most of the day at the hospital getting my blood typed. Anyone had the barium ct scan? If so, can you share with me any side effects and ect. I've never had a transfusion before either. I've always been afraid of them. God will be with me, so pray every things will go good. They are cutting down on my Tasigna also. I didn't make it to the Moffitt because they wouldn't treat the emergency as I hadn't seen a doctor there yet.
