Guest guest
Hi All, I finally heard back regarding my question to Bristol-Meyers regarding the possibility that Sprycel lowers our metabolism making it easy to gain weight and hard to lose it. Well, I heard a pro form answer that the only way we might gain weight because of Sprycel is through fluid retention. It indicates that there's been no investigation of Sprycel and metabolism. I intend to follow up on this with my onc at the trial because I really do believe there is something to it and that BMS and Novartis simply haven't really studied the issue. I may be wrong, of course, but there's a lot of anecdotal evidence. FOr myself, I'm eating a normal, watchful diet that is low fat, low salt and as high in fiber as I can make it through eating bran and vegetables and fruits. I'm not gaining any weight. Since I've quit " dieting " my focus is not on food and I find that I'm actually eating less. Smiles,
