Guest guest
Hi I was sick and exhausted for a good long while on Gleevec, and I still have the stomach issues--they never seem to go away! However, I am in remission and working full-time again. My energy is better and better-- I think because I am learning a different way of living. I take naps when I need to (not at work, though), say no to things a lot more often, eat healthy and light, small meals, and pay attention to spiritual things, play with my dogs a lot and walk on the beach as often as I can. Good luck! It will get better. I was taken off my Gleevec for one week in June of this year and Philadelphia chromosomes came right back--so don't contemplate stopping or skipping doses. It promotes resistance and the drug that is keeping you alive could stop working. Best wishes and May God bless and keep you, Vicki > > It has been since march on 400 mg gleevec. Guest guest
when you say stomach issues, do you mean nausea and diarrhea? If so, those are soooo normal, at least for the beginning. Ask your doc for an anti-nausea medication, it has worked like a charm for me. Also, I take Gleevec only at night, before bed. If I take it in the morning, whew! The nausea is awful. Still am tired and fighting stomach issues with gleevec. Is the future unknown or any ideas what may come at this point.
