I just was on Amoxicillin and then on Leveguin (spelling) for a severe ear

ache. I would verify with my pharmacist, but mine said neither had any

interaction with Gleevec.

Amoxil is sometimes used. But it's not very strong and 30 days will

more than likely leave him with a worse case of Lymes in a few months

after you stop treatment. Unless you found the tick that gave it to

him and pulled it off the day you started treatment. Otherwise, a 30

day treatment is the old CDC standard treatment and for those of us

with chronic Lymes, we all know that doesn't work. Sorry, just a

heads up... Good luck and if your son's symptoms return think about

taking him to a Lyme Specialist (LLMD) means Lyme Literate Medical

Doctor. There are websites that can help you find a doctor in your

area. Here is probly the main one... you have to sign up to get a

list but they will give you the closest one's they have but they may

not be the only one's that treat it properly. Ask your doctor if they

treat by the ILADS guidelines? website below...

Hi All,

I'm back. I cannot believe I am posting on this site again, but that means

my second son has Lyme again. Four out of five of us have had it, one

chronic, but looks like Cole has it again .... Was diagnosed with Osgood

Slatter's last fall, and just thought the joint pain during lacrosse was

associated with that. Pain started traveling to ankles and general achiness

and got him tested. Only 41 and 66 are positive, so we have a test off to

Igenex, but have begun to treat with 200 mg of doxi. Due to sun and my

desire to hit this hard, want to switch to plaquenil and durex (dorex?) a

derivative of doxi.

I don't have appointment with Dr. J until August, but will ask for a

cancellation.

I'm just sounding off. I can't believe we are dealing with this again!!! I

so want to move out of tick country.

Cole's issue is different because with the rest of us, I knew when we'd been

bitten and could follow the timelines. And because Tucker had been

undertreated (three weeks) when initially diagnosed, I also knew to hit hard

with three months of antibiotics for the rest of us. But with Cole, don't

know if this is new infection or him becoming symptomatic again. I'm sure

Dr. J will help determine that .... but still ..... arghhhhhhhhhhh!

And can you believe I just ran an educational forum for our district on how

to prevent yourself from getting Lyme disease (personal protection, habitat

management). Despite high tick control, we still get it. I hate this

disease.

Please accept my apologies for ranting. It's really all I need to do. Blow

off some steam to people who get it.

And with that, I bid you adieu.

Hugs, (and Tucker, Cole, Haeden)

My daughter had the same diagnosis for almost a year, Osgood Slaughter.  As the

aches spread from her knees to other joints, we went from doctor to doctor

looking for an explanation.  After a year, we finally got a positive Lyme test

from Igenex.  We were never aware of any tick bite or rash.

Good luck with treatment.  We all understand your frustration.  It has been

tough on our family just dealing with a single Lyme patient, I can't imagine

dealing with four.
