Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I mentioned this in another post but wanted to give it a post of its own because I think it's important. It's the latest published paper that talks about how patients on Gleevec should be monitored (cytogenetics, PCR's, blood tests etc). Often we see patients here who aren't getting the right tests. If this is your case, I urge you to print this paper and take it to your doctor and ask why he/she isn't following the protocol. You can find the paper here: http://tinyurl.com/63ebdw Tracey
Guest guest
Thanks Tracey. Also in the same issue of Hematology an historical of CML by the same author. Blood also has an historical of CML written by Dr Druker for the 50th anniversary of the discovery of the translocation BCR-ABL that I found pretty encouraging. http://bloodjournal.hematologylibrary.org/cgi/content/full/112/13/4808 BTW I got another PCR result, still positive but too low to quantify (that's the 3rd with the same result). And I survived a few maitais in my thanksgiving Hawaii trip, I guess my liver is still working. Disclaimer : I was very reasonable in the # of maitai/day (1) and I do not recommend even that if you are starting gleevec or if your liver counts are not all in the green. Cheers, Marcos. Guest guest
Hi Chi, I haven't posted much lately, busy at work, dealing with immigration (that went good) and other more fun things like dating now that I feel better :-) But I still read the list almost daily and keep all you gals and guys in my thoughts. And my mom is still hiking and climbing :-) Cheers, Marcos. On Fri, Dec 12, 2008 at 3:03 PM, china neal <chimera46@...> wrote: > Marcos- > > > Please keep us posted, sending you positive vibes.
