Guest guest
Dear Tammy, Occular migraines are the same as silent migranes and the images may differ, mine are irregular shapes that look like black lightening bolts - sig zags. If you ever have something like trying to see behind a dirty curtain, then you need to see a doctor immediately, that could be a vitrous detachment. I and the people whom I have known to have the occular migraines also said they were not painful. I have never had many headaches, in fact I may have been 40 years old before I ever had a headache. I thought it was the Gleevec causing the phenomona, but I had it on Sprycel and the SKI trial I am in, although less and less and not on a regular basis. As long as we all know they are not harmful, we needn't be worried about it. While on Gleevec, I had a 40# weight gain that slid off as soon as I got off it. I also had bad bouts of diarrhea, and bad facial and eye edema. I also experienced bone and joint pain. According to some doctors, it is a good sign, that the immature cells are dying off faster than the body can absorb them. Whoopee! I also suffered from the nausea, but when I was on 600 mg., it was a regular thing, most of the time during the evening meal while everyone was eating. All of the other trials and drugs have side effects as well, some have learned when and how was the best time to take them, and some trials you had to take at certain times. In the SKI trial, I was told to take it at 9:00 a.m. every day with a substantial meal, no wiggle room there. Sometimes things get better just because we see them as a fact of life. Blessings, Lottie
