Dear Suzzie.

It is startling to read that your newfound friend who is drowning in pleural

effusions actually believes that it is as good as it gets. Does she belong to

this group? Is she not interested in finding new treatments, is her doctor not

concerned with her condition? I don't mean to ply you with questions, but

having seen a lot of doctors for everything from A to Z, I think I can spot a

doctor who is either not interested or not keeping up with current medical

knowledge. I hope you can persuade her to either change doctors or ask the

present one to try to find the reason for the effusions if it is indeed Sprycel.

I don't know how long one can survive with this condition, but I don't think it

is indefinite. Maybe I am off base, but I think she has reason to be worried.

Blessings,

Lottie
