Guest guest
Dear , When I was on Sprycel, I was diagnosed with pneumonia, pleural and pericardial effusions and was placed on several asthma meds, also. I was diagnosed with a very serious lung infection. One of the drugs they gave me for infection caused a drop in my blood pressure, which made me so weak, I couldn't drive my car and my B/P dropped to 74. I was supposed to have foot surgery and it cancelled because of this. I also had MRSA at the same time. All of this happened while I was on Sprycel. Once they put me in another trial, I stopped the asthma meds, never had any more effusions or drop in B/P. With a lot of meds, I was finally cleared of the MRSA. We are all different in the way our bodies assimilate drugs and we all have different side effects. What we all have in common is CML. We need to talk to our doctors about our difficulties and see if a different dosage or drug would give us a better QOL, without compromising our stage of remission. My remission stopped at CHR, but my QOL is still better than some people who do not have CML. We are never home free, we will always have a fly in the ointment, so sometimes it is better to stay with the devil we know than the devil we don't know. Changing our drugs may not always be in our best interest, that is why we need to have some serious discussions with our doctors and tell them what others are feeling with the same drugs. Blessings, Lottie
