But, when I am PMSing, I am jsut awful. I might as well just stay in bed one week of the month because I feel like I am non functional. I am depressed, obsessive, I pick fights... I did my own little diary and figured out that it is only when I am PMSing. I know now to tell myself when I start having erratic thoughts that I am just PMSing, but sometimes I can't control it. Does anyone else have this problem. I only need something for that time. Can anyone tell me a good thing to do when I just can't control the PMS feelings? I don't want to take the pill either. Please let me know. I have a male Dr and he has no clue. ---------------------------------
Guest guest
See a female doctor for a second opinion. She's more likely to know what to do. If your gynecologist is a female - talk this over with her. Perhaps you could take Xanax during that week. I use it only during the most anxious moments (but rarely use it at all now that I'm on Lex). Curious, though - why not the pill? (if you care to share, of course...) ~ia > For 3/4 of the month, my Lex works. But, when I am PMSing, I am jsut > awful. Guest guest
Hi Ladies, For years many of us have been complaining about heavy bleeding every month. Most doctors have never shown an interest and to my knowledge none have ever studied to see if Gleevec plays a role. Regardless, I did find some very interesting information recently. I always avoided taking Ibuprofen during " that time " because I erroneously thought that it would thin the blood and make me bleed even more but recently I read that Ibuprofen actually inhibits prostaglandin synthesis which stops the uterus from contracting thereby reducing the amount of blood loss. I tried it for my last two cycles and was amazed at how well it worked! Just one Advil reduced my cramping and more importantly the amount of blood I lost very significantly. Here are a couple of easy to read articles that mention Ibuprofen as an effective way for treating heavy bleeding. http://tinyurl.com/5tq4of http://tinyurl.com/5ko27d Tracey
