Guest guest
Hi everyone - I have been checking up on all your chats but have not posted for a little while. I am well but have another glivec rash which is not making me unwell - but starting to be mighty annoying. Off to see the medicos to see what is going on once and for all. Anyone else having bothersome rashes or is it just me this month. As stated previously glivec rashes and me go together. That is the CML stuff ______________________________________________________________ Now for the Gossip in Australia Melbourne Cup Week - for those who do not know - this is a Group 1 international horse race - it stops the nation. Everyone stops for the race and have celebrations around the country - our office has a party at lunchtime and we all wear our race hats - people bet or have sweeps etc. Great day. We actually should have a national holiday as work just stops in 99% of Australia and every State. My neighbours have flown to Melbourne from our home State of Perth for the fortnight. I have their horses having a sleep over at my place until their return. Holiday for those little 4 legged friends. One of my mares is in her element showing off to say she is the Queen and all you boys better get used to it. I am making my Melbourne Cup Hat - which will have lots of feathers. Just have to go to the markets and find feathers - maybe balloons will look better. Can you imagine walking around with a head of balloons - I may do that - easier but funnier. This will be interesting The West Australia Branch of the LF have a seminar especially for CML next week plus two other chronic leukamias. The keynote speaker is from a well known city public hospital which is a teaching emergency hospital and this hospital also does transplants etc. Has one of the best haematology units in the State. (My treating hospital is a private hospital nearby in the same city which my specialist contracts from). I have been invited and cannot wait. Besides listening and asking questions from the specialist I may actually meet someone with CML from my home state. In a funny way this part is very very exciting. I have only met one other person in the flesh with my condition from my own State which is great and we have met a number of times now. She is also attending so that will give me another chance to catch up.
