Guest guest
By golly, I found it, Bobby. I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't go through there while we went through the Mojave desert in 1947. You should write Chris Deaux and tell him about your own life in the desert town. No A/C, that place was hot, even the rocks were black. Here's part of the article and the link if anyone is interested: Welcome to Pioneertown, California - a dusty outpost perched on the edge of the Mojave Desert in the shadow of Los Angeles. Built in 1946 by Hollywood cowboys and legendary country singers Gene Autry and Roy , the town would go on to serve as the backdrop for many of Hollywood's classic b-western films and television serials, including " The Cisco Kid, " " Annie Oakley, " " Buffalo Bill Jr. " and, poetically, Gene Autry's final film, " The Last of the Pony Riders. " The town's time in the spotlight would be short lived, however, and by the mid-1950's Pioneertown sat forgotten and decaying in the desert sun. https://rushprnews.iuplog.com/default.asp?item=158008 Blessings, Lottie
Guest guest
Hi Lottie, very interesting, I cannot download The last Western. Don't know why. But a lot of the pictures he used are mine, and I have been in contact with him, had to sign off to let him use my pics. But I can't get into that site anymore. Maybe that has something to do with my new computer? But I have the film he made anyway, just never took the time to look at it, in fact I will have to do some searching to find it. Crimminy, I don't even have a vcr anymore, will have to get my son to put it on a dvd for me..
