Guest guest
Hi Dan, I would try not to worry about a single test result. Mistakes do happen and treatment decisions should never be made using a single test result. With PCR's especially, there's a relatively large margin of error (up to a half a log) and besides that, you want to have a couple of tests to see if there is a trend before you can determine the significance of the results. The first question that I would ask though is if the lab has changed their way of testing since your last test. Many labs are now trying to " get with the program " and do better testing so perhaps this is the case with your lab. Perhaps they have simply started doing better (more sensitive) testing. The other question that you want to know is what the lab's baseline value is so you can determine how your result compares. I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry. PCR's do go up and down. Take care, Tracey > > I have been in the zero club for several years on 600 mg of Gleevec. > Just had a pcr test that had level of 0.5. Should I be worried? Guest guest
Thanks , Its funny...I had gotten so used to Gleevec working perfectly, I had gotten used to cml and really didn't think much about it. Anyway, I appreciate your response. Thanks again. Dan > > > > I have been in the zero club for several years on 600 mg of > Gleevec. > > Just had a pcr test that had level of 0.5.
