Guest guest
Dear China, If you should be laid off, why couldn't you apply for disability? Some like you have continued to work and others have found it too difficult, because of side effects. Let's all hope and pray that your job is secure. I'm sure your co-workers will be out looking for other jobs with this threat dangling over their heads and not wait for the pink slip. Guest guest
What if you can work a little? If you get disability, would I be able to freelance from time to time or would my earnings be deducted from my disability check? From: lotajam@... Guest guest
Every State is different. Usually you start out on temporary state disability for a period of time which varies. I believe its 6 months in most states, then you have to qualify if not any better by the Social Security Administration with doctors documentation etc. Then you can continue on permanent disability. Guest guest
Permanent disability is about half of what I'm getting on state disability, and that's no great shakes. I'm getting panicked about what I'll do when my state disability runs out. Permanent disability would just cover my rent, but just barely. From: suzzienovember@... Guest guest
Yes, I understand completly.I am on SS disability now for 10 years.I get 832 a month with my newest cut.My mortgage is $555.00.Then add all the utilities, food, gas, car insurance etc..Not eligable for food stamps or any other programs so I struggle. My meds are about 9,000.00 a month.Good thing Medi/medi is still covering those meds or I would die.I sure hope they don't cut the state programs here in Ca or I will be in a world of hurt.I already struggle..ugh.. Hope things work out for you. SharonS - In , Rosen Lum <rrosenlum@...> wrote: > > > Permanent disability is about half of what I'm getting on state disability, and that's no great shakes. Guest guest
Hello, Yes,my social security amount was reduced.Normally we get a slight increase each year(about 7-10 dollars). This year the state of California couldn't afford to pay those recieving Social Security Insurance so they cut our money by about 38.00 a month. Both my son(disabled) and myself both recieved cuts. The state of Ca is really in bad shape currently..Hope this clears up my comment..lol Thanks SHaronS In , " suzzienovember " <suzzienovember@...> wrote: > > > > > > > > > > > Permanent disability is about half of what I'm getting on state disability, and that's no great shakes. Guest guest
Hi Sharon: That is a shame that they cut it on you. Couldn't they cut something else besides people's SS Check. I live in NJ, and its horrible here, and there is so much corruption going on where money is spent for things that are not even needed. I wonder where its all going with this economy?? Hang In There. > > > > > > > > > > > Permanent disability is about half of what I'm getting on state disability, and that's no great shakes.
