HI, THIS IS A TRUE STORY, SOME OF YOU MAY HAVE READ IT ON ANOTHER SITE, BUT IT'S

A TRUE STORY AND MY FAVORITE, BECAUSE I LIVED IT.

WE WERE LIVING IN A SMALL DESSERT TOWN UP IN THE SAN BERNARDINO MOUNTAINS , IN

CALIFORNIA  IN 1965.  THERE HAD BEEN SEVERAL DAYS OF RAIN UP IN BIG BEAR AND THE

SURROUNDING MOUNTAINS, AND THE FLASH FLOODS WASHED OUT THE ONLY TWO ROADS INTO

TOWN.  NO ONE COULD GET IN AND NO ONE COULD GET OUT.   NO ONE COULD GO SHOPPING

FOR THANKSGIVING.

WELL THERE WERE ONLY 67 PEOPLE THAT LIVED IN THIS TOWN CALLED PIONEERTOWN, AND

LUCKILY SOME OF US WOMEN HAD ALREADY DONE OUR TURKEY SHOPPING.  SO, THE PEOPLE

THAT OWNED  THE LOCAL SALOON ,  THE RED DOG SALOON, OPENED THE PLACE AND THEIR

KITCHEN  TO ALL OF US.

THE LADIES ALL GOT TOGETHER AND COOKED UP THE TURKEYS, AND ALL THE TRIMMINGS

THEY HAD BOUGHT, THE TEENAGERS  MADE PIES AND DESSERTS. THE GUYS SET UP THE

TABLES, AND CHAIRS AND MADE SURE EVERYONE IN TOWN HAD A RIDE THERE.

JUST AS WE WERE LEAVING OUR HOUSE TO GO TO DINNER WITH EVERYONE ELSE, THE RAIN

STOPPED AND THE  MOST BEAUTIFUL RAINBOW APPEARED.  IT WAS LIKE HAVING THE MAN

UPSTAIRS SMILE DOWN ON ALL OF US, AND THIS WAS CERTAINLY MY MOST MEMORABLE

THANKSGIVING.

WE HAD A LOT TO BE THANKFUL FOR THAT YEAR, AND WE HAVE EVEN MORE TO BE THANKFUL

FOR THIS YEAR.  THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR BEING HERE FOR EACH OTHER, AND HAVE A

GREAT THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY, LOVE, BOBBY
