Great! I've bought stuff from her before. Very good service and by signing

up for her newsletter, you'll get some really good offers through that like

a Green Power Juicer for $395.00. I'm not on a completely raw food diet but

I'm eating a lot less cooked food now than I used to. Another place for

good info is www.hacres.com.

Thanks ,

I think I might order a few things from her site; that spiral veggie slicer

for veggie pasta looks interesting....you

can't do that in a food processor can you? Just got a nice one for xmas...

I 'm not a weirdo, but are you living in Rolla? When I joined Sproutpeople,

I glanced thru

their archives, and thought I read that about someone. I lived there a

looong time ago when I was 8-11 yrs. old....

my dad went to the University of Rolla; we also lived in Ft. Leonard Woods,

and St. Louis for a while.

No I don't even know where Rolla is to be honest. I live in Eastern

Colorado now but have lived in Denver, Fort , Fargo, ND, head,

MN, Tulsa and several small towns in OK. I have the spiral veggie slicer

from her site and have used it to make raw yam pasta which I ate with

cooked spaghetti sauce. It was very good. As for not being a weirdo, there

are those who think any of us who eat sprouts and try to eat healthier are

weirdos. They also think it's weird to homeschool. So don't worry. I don't

think you're a weirdo. You were just curious and asked a question. I can't

fault anybody for that.

Ok, it bugged me -so i had to go look it up in the archives......it was a

who said

he was moving to Rolla, Missouri. I was half right in the name anyhow...

but Colorado sounds like a beautiful place to live! How lucky you are to

live there!

I heard the people are a little more earthy there......

hmmm....my friends do think i'm weird and i haven't even told them about me

starting to sprout yet!

When i had my last baby, alex, i decided i wanted a waterbirth at a

birthcenter, and

they have thought me *crazy* since.........

Homeschooling-good for you! That's a lot of dedication with 6 kids! I'm

considering it....

but i found a school ( Muller school-a combination of Montessori,

Waldorf, and they emphasize compassion, cooperation among other things.)

that goes up to 6th grade that i might try......but i'm definately open

to homeschooling too! NOt sure i have the patience!

warmly, Chris

Ah, yes. We had our last two at home with a midwife. You get some strange

looks when you tell people that. Homeschooling does take patience and

perseverance but both can be developed if you have the desire.

Welcome to the group! I think you will find a lot of support here.

It's great that the MRI doesn't show any congenital abnormalities. What is important is finding out the RVAD and also getting that follow up x-ray to see if your son is progressing or not.

I am from VA and felt that the doctors here were of little help as well. It was so frustrating. Your son might be a candidate for casting. It is definitely something worth looking into. We travel to Erie, PA to have our son casted and have had amazing results! Ian started out at around 27 degrees where he remained stable for a while. Sadly, last October x-rays showed that he progressed to 36 degrees and 4 weeks later when we finally got to Shriners Hospital in Erie, he had progressed to 43 degrees. He is currently in his third cast and doing very well. When they took his last cast off, he was 15 degrees. He is 8 degrees in his current cast. So, the long travel time stinks, but it is most definitely worth it when you see the results! Treatment is free at Shriners which you can't beat! Anyway, it's just a thought if you are at all interested in the casting procedure.

I suggest reading the ISOP website in it's entirety. It has a ton of helpful information on it. http://infantilescoliosis.org/ You can also get a video of the casting procedure if you are interested.

Anyway, I wish you and your son the best of luck.

hi.my name is martha and my 7 mo. old baby, charles, was diagnosed with scoliosis at 5 mos. he also has torticollis, diagnosed at 4 mos. he had a MRI 1 1/2 weeks ago, which came back negative. my doctor, a pediatric orthopaedic, who specializes in scoliosis, failed to xray charles last week at our appt. his first and only xray was at 5 mos. which measured 28 degrees. his curve appears close to his neck. needless to say, i am thrilled to have found this website, just 2 days after my appt. on tue. now, i am trying to get the RVAD and get a second xray. i would love any info, tips on anything. i feel as though the doctors around here (charlotte, nc) are of little help.thank you and i look forward to hearing from some of you!also, we are starting physical therapy for his torticollis.

Hi Martha- My son Evan was diagnosed at 4mos with scoli and torticollis as well. He is doing PT now- and he is in week 6 of his first cast! We actually are located about 1hr 1/2 from you all. If you don't mind me asking where did you take ? We went to WFU in Winston-Salem and to Duke as well. Good luck with your search for info. Have your Dr's suggested waiting to see if the curve progresses? Our first Dr's did and by the time Evan was supposed to go for his f/u at WFU, he was in his cast (and had progressed over 12degrees) Feel free to email me anytime! and Evan (8/7/05)charlesangelspine <charlesangelspine@...> wrote: hi.my name is martha and my 7 mo. old baby, charles, was diagnosed with scoliosis at
