The doctors will keep a watch on her liver through her blood tests. You don't

worry about that. You have enough to worry about as it is. You take care of your

family just as you want to and don't let anyone else make you feel bad for what

you do. I am sure if your daughter feels ad bad as my Granny does sometimes,

that she needs help from you. My grandmother is on Gleevec. Anyway, I wish you

and your daughter the best.

That girl needed to have someone turn her over on their knee and give her a

good spanking. She's only 20, has a child, no job and living off her mother

who works in a store, so you know she's living marginally. I don't think

there is a dainty way to talk to her, but you have a good idea of what

cancer is like and she should get her head screwed on right. Do you remember

when Jeanny wrote and asked if her 19 year old daughter could drink while on

BMS? I think she got a good pounding then from several of us, but it's not

only her daughter, it's her letting her daughter off the hook for

everything. Probably sleeps half the day and goes out clubbing at night. If

she wanted to do that, she should not have put herself in a position to have

a child. Some girls who have babies out of wedlock make wonderful mothers

and put their lives on hold to take care of the baby and others like the

woman in Florida, Cayla , kill them. That is the most egerious crime

you can commit, to kill your own child. Killing a child with partial birth

abortions is equally as criminal. You can't kill a cat or a dog, but you can

kill a baby that is being born live???? Turns my stomach.

thanks you so much for your answer, she;'s been on sprycel for a year now, and

im sorry if I make mistake in anglish, but im french,

my daughter takes tylenol, because she have a lot of headack, should she take

something els, you say its hard on the liver, , would something els be not as

hard on the liver,

and how is your husband, and I wish him all the luck in the world, and I will

pray for you and him, im so sorry you have to live true this, I know exactly how

it feels,,

Oh Jeanny, So sorry you got such an email in response to your post. My

husband was diagnosed in Oct 2006 and had NO interest in talking with anyone

about it - it really shoves your mortality in your face when you have to

confront it..its normal coping. As far as having a drink here and there is

ok according to all sources..my husband had a few beers at Christmas and at

various summer picnics..really just watch the liver and being upfront with

your primary Dr who is managing the CML - many are very quick to take

Tylenol or whatever other pharm - a drink is generally not more toxic that

those - but as I said - your daughter should just give a head's up..the

thing is she is young and can have a good life if the side effects will

subside so SHE has to figure out how to live with CML and the drugs which

treat it.. Its such a shock when you have to deal with this at such a young

age- I know quite a few young people with CML - so I can put you or her in

touch...ranging ages from 22 - 35..let me know

My husband had quite severe side effects for the first year..now after 2

years, there are a few side effects he could do without but he has learned

to live with most...Oh as well - headaches are very common on sprycel

...sorry to re-ask - how long has she been on it?

ok , wowo,, I was not saying she was on booz and all, she is a very nice

girl, I was just saying that she did not want to talk to people about her

cancer, and that she still have a lot of pain , she is on sprycel and I was

asking , if it was normal to have such pain .her back her legs and harm

ect,, ar always in pain and headack ect... yes I have ask that last year

about booz and sprycel but you did give me a answer , and lots of you did,

and since then she have not drink, thank god and I did say thank you to all

of you for answering my letter,, yes I do help her and the baby a lot, but

that is because I want to be around them as much as I can, I haven't put any

more letters in here saying she was a alcoolic or a bad mom, so were are u

taking that she is not a good mother? my little skyler is very spoiled and

is having a very good life, I love my kids to death and I love my grand kid,

they are the world to me, and my daughter natasha, she loves me to death,

she woudent do any thing to hurt me or hurt that child, we are very very

close , she doesent go to bars any more, and if she do , she goes with me

and we drink wather and she sings at karioki nights, were from a little

little town of 9000 people , you have sugested for her to go to cancer

places , to talk about leukemia and stuff, well she cant , there is none

here, we would have to go to timmins for that , and that is 2 hours from

here,

p,s, wen I have ask last year about my daughter , if she could drink, no one

have pounded us, they were all nice about it,, saying the truth about the

matter , that she had to choose, to die or to live a longer life , and she

did do the right thing,, she decided to have the longer life, to be here for

me and her son, and she was crying wen saying it, and she promise that she

will never touch another alcoolic drink in her life, and she never did, So

please don't put my daughter down or my grand son before you know exactly

what have happen, the question I have ask , have nothing to do with this

letter you have send ,
