Not uncommon to find vegans short of protein, most pescatarians, lacto- or ova- vegetarians are good to go but not always. Meat eaters usually test to have plenty or an excess. Excess protein can (but does not necessarily) as well as a lack of protein, cause problems, particularly if there is some underlying problem (diabetes, poor kidney function, etc). I have no question about protein myself, have for 70 years been a consumer of leafy greens, non-pastureized and fermented dairy products, and nuts.
