Guest guest
The only time I see a nurse is when I make an appointment to see one if the doctor has a heavy case load, and it is not my oncologist. I see the oncology nurse first after the labs and vital signs are done and I've filled out all the paper work. Then either the research nurse or nurse/practioner comes in to do the physical and the doctor comes in last. There are no phones in these offices, everyone works work at desks in the hall. He gives me my current CBC and goes over it with me , circling anything he wants to emphasize, and then the last visit's BMA and goes over it, also. If it's good, he has a big smile on his face and says it's working. If it's not working, he says to give it another chance until next time. I would feel shortchanged if I drove 800 miles to see a nurse. Perhaps it's the way it's set up with your HMO or PPO that substitutes a nurse for a doctor to keep costs down. I always have a BMA or BMB. Blessings, Lottie
