Guest guest
No wonder the poor guy just had a heart attack -- he was picturing the mobs of people brandishing pitchforks and torches that would set upon his office when they heard this announcement! Sheesh, I wouldn't trade places with him for anything. From: lotajam@... Guest guest
Yes Lottie- that cheered me up greatly- NOT. I'm just kidding with you but things are really bad here. In my own very rich county- the OC( home to reality television shows- The real Housewives and Laguna Beach) workers have already been laid off. From Feb until June we will each lose a day of pay per pay period- 2 days pay a month. I knew when I became a social worker I wouldn't make a lot of money but I thought I would make some-lol. Now that tax refund I was hoping for....IOU. But at the end of the dayI'm still okay because I am alive; still here to raise my daughter and that is what's really important. Although I may have to come live with one of you when I'm kicked to the employment curb after 18 years of service to the County of Orange. Because of the break in service to go back to PA , I lost my seniority. Maybe we could start a CML commune. Perhaps up in the Bay area near San Francisco( birthplace of the Hippie movement) with our Cmlers there. In case anyone is taking me seriously- I'll be fine. I only need to find one job if I get laid off not 20. Fight On Warriors!!! Guest guest
Hi, The problem with the SF bay area idea is the price of real estate has somewhat increased since the Hippie era. If you start that in Utah I join, I love that place. Marcos. On Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 8:17 AM, china neal <chimera46@...> wrote: > > Yes Lottie- that cheered me up greatly- NOT. Guest guest
Come on Marcos.... Can't we all live at your place? It would be fun to take us all on a picnic to your dive spots? SF bay is such a lovely place. It should be healing to just be there!!! Guest guest
I'm taking note of all the California talk. I lived on the West Side of LA for 24 years. It has both good and bad things about it but I guess I liked it pretty well since I stayed there for so long. I do get a little wistful when I see movies and tv filmed there. There's always something to do! Which is more than I can say for Virginia. I left LA in 2001. Went to a clinical trial in Connecticut because Gleevec didn't work too well for me. Ended up in Virginia via old friends after the trial was over and I've been here for 5 years. I would prefer to live in DC and am going to start looking into the possibilities there. Should be a lively place now! Guest guest
It's not too big but sure. Although I love my landlord too much and I am looking at craigslist for somewhere else (around here). Picnic is good, lot of possibilities around here. Marcos.
