Guest guest
Congratulations on both counts, that is wonderful. And I seem to remember a Biblical story of a women older than you who had a child who changed the world. But if not, 3 years at PCRU is terrific. Since I turn 63 on Tuesday, I have serious doubts about this. LOL!!! But, because of the trial protocol, of course I have to retake the test. Rules are hard to believe sometimes. Guest guest
Hi , Congratulations on the excellent results! I wasn't sure if you were joking about the pregnancy test but if you were serious, I am very intrigued with this. I think it confirms to us how much the TKI's interfere with our hormones. It never occurred to me to take a pregnancy test but when my prolactin was triple it should have been, I bet a pregnancy test would also have been positive. I really hope your doctors follow up with this. Do they give you regular, routine pregnancy tests and is this the first time one was positive? Guest guest
Tracey, Yes, apparently I get tested for all kinds of stuff as part of the trial protocol including a routine pregnancy test. Seems a little odd to me but I guess they have their reasons? Yes, hormonal imbalance of some sort. I'm getting another pregnancy test from my primary care doc that will be sent to the trial. As for f/up, I doubt the trial will do anything. I'll ask my primary care doc what she thinks though. Also will at least ask the trial doc if it has some significance re: Sprycel and/or CML interference with hormones. Thanks, Tracey. Guest guest
Tracey, Me again. It occurs to me that hormonal imbalance may, in fact, be the reason for my weight gain and inability to lose weight on Sprycel for the last year. Prior to that, I was fine with no weight problem since going off Gleevec. This may be the answer I've been seeking. [ ] Re: Test Results--LOL Hi , Congratulations on the excellent results! Guest guest
Well , other than it's 10 degrees here with 20 some inches of snow on the ground, Indiana is in good shape. I have never been so tired of cold and snowy weather--where is 'global warming' and when is it going to get to Northern Indiana. Bob , Granger, Indiana > > Righto!
