Hi Kat,

I speak a little Spanish too. Mostly I learned to communicate in spanish for

the welfare of my hospital patients that spoke Spanish. But, I am NOT fluent.

Hi all,

My tremors are worse in the morning...they are mostly in my hands

although I have at times been shaky in my legs too. The tremors I get

vary ...some days are worse than others very bad when I am stressed. My

Doctor hasn't ever made any comment to me about them except one time and

he told me to get a small rubber ball and squeeze it for exercise that

this will strengthen my hands.....I tried it and it doesn't help the

tremors any as far as strengthening I haven't noticed to much of a

change there either. The tremors also got worse after my 2 surgeries in

my neck...this was very noticable to me as I have more trouble holding

onto things and I spill more if not careful when I have coffee or

anything n a glass or cup. Just plain holding anything is somewhat of a

task anymore...must be noticable to others too as I have had people ask

me what was the matter at times when I was on the extreme shaky side.

(that is what I call it on the worse days).

Chance has the tremors in his hands. Sometimes t is very slight, but

other times it is pretty bad. One time he was shaking so bad on his

right had that he couldnt hold his spoon. He was really scared. It

almost looked like he was having a seizure, but it was fom the CMT.

Luckly that doesnt happen often.

Hi, here. If you get the shakes when you haven't eaten that

probable means your blood sugar is low. You may also want to have your DR.

check for diabetes. People who have CMT may develop this. I Know I did.

, when I read this I said OH NO!!!! I know we are alll different with

our CMT, but, I was also told to get a ball and squeeze it to help strengthen

my hands. At that time my hands were doing fine. It wasn't until after I

started using a hand ballon pump (you squeeze a bulb in your hand to pump

air) to make animal ballons that I lost the strength in my hands. The doctor

that told me to do this was reading from the old medical books. The ones

that say exercise to build muscle is what the patient needs. Instead of

nowadays where you are to use caution so not to tire the muscle you have left.

Please be careful.....

Hi Peggie here. I have been checked for diabetes, twice, and I don't have

it! From the sounds of some of the replies...... maybe it is just another

CMT thing? I do know that food will stop these.....

When responding to a post it would be much nicer to not to keep sending the

same info over and over...i.e.

re: vaccination, my digest had the romberg letter 4 times ...it takes up

lots of bandwidth.

I hear those watch-cats can be very vicious at times (lol). So glad to hear there are so many animal lovers in the group. I also have and 8 yr old little thing (part chi and part cocker) who is totally in charge of puppy even though puppy weighs about 5 lbs more than him. Pepper keeps her in line and is helping her potty train. Lucky me huh!

Vicky

PS, welcome to all the new comers. Get in touch, I'd love to know more about ya's! Hey, did anyone see Jupiter on New Years Eve?

Jupiter? OH OH. I saw a special over the holidays that

speculated around the time of Christ's birth Jupiter

and a couple of other planets moved into a

constellation at the same time(I think it was Aries),

and that was the " star " that the 3 magi saw. Could

this be the end? Boy wouldn't I have the last laugh on

the charge card companies if it was... :) -dz-

Your family has been through a lot of change. That is

always stressful for all involved. Hopefully a little

time will help iron things out. I'll keep you in my

prayers. -dz-

Donna,

I don't think his personality would lend itself well to a stretch tape....for

some reason I think good aerobic instructors make bad relaxation tape

instructors and the same for the relaxation instructors. I couldn't imagine

Rodney Yee doing a high energy workout. :-)

I'm well. My significant other is out of town for Christmas which is kind of

depressing. This is the first of our four Christmases together they we wont

actually be together for Christmas. I do get to go home and spend time with my

family as well....which will be nice. But I'm such a romantic and this to me is

one of the most romantic times of year and also the time of year we started

dating.

We did get to go out and look at Christmas lights and such before he left...but

its not the same. Next year I guess.

Hope you are well!!!!

Hey everyone. I just love this website. Rosemary and I are scheduled in 12 days for lapband. The butterflys have started their dance, but we are so ready to get it done and get back on the thinner side again. We will start our pre-op diet Monday. Can we have the sugar-free jello on this phase?

I am not sure I would have gone thru with this if it hadn't been for this website. Everyone is so encouraging and full of information.
