Guest guest
Dear Esther, As far as I know, the food is donated by different restaurants, if you want the whole thing, I can try and find out who gave, but I didn't think anyone would know these people anyway, so I didn't include it. Your local LLS should be able to tell you how much is donated; they gave a lot for the research on Gleevec, according to the stats I read, Novartis only put up 10%. This was a great thing for you to do and I want to personally thank you. Each year, it will become easier and easier and soon you will be delegating and getting others to do a lot of the work you were doing and you would oversee the project. They asked me to do it, but I don't know how I could possibly committ my time, as I wake up in a whole new world every day, I never know how things will be for me, physically. I would love to do it. I do help out when LLS comes and does a seminar and if they ask me to speak, I do that. Maybe sometime in the near future you will tell us how you began and how you got the people to donate, etc. It may be a starting point for someone else. Thanks a bunch, Esther. I know everyone with CML will reap the benefits of your efforts, you did a swell job and raised a lot of money. I think the whole thing is an awareness feature and people do love to walk. We have walks and 12K runs here for everything to raise money. There is always abundant food available at different stations, all donated by chefs and restaurants and even individuals. You have done something to be proud of and thanks for sharing it with us. xoxox Lottie
