Re: new to Sprycell question

thanks for sharing your experiences on Sprycell. I am worried of this

becoming Gleevec II on side effects. I am just so hopeful to find the right

direction, so I can feel half decent most of the time. Still, I have no

complaints and am in awe of what these meds have done for us all.

Hi I am no longer on Sprycel, but was in the phase 1 trial for it.

The headache was the only main side effect I had, and it lasted for about 2

weeks, then all was well,  hang in there, I am sure it will go all by itself and

you will just fine.  Good luck, I loved that drug, but unfortunately I had

pleural effusion after one and a half years.  Bobby

Good Morning,

you all may recall I posted last month I would be starting Sprycell in the

new year. I did three days ago. It is going ok, but I must say, the headache

pain is enormous, reminds me of when I started Gleevec. I really did not

see this coming. I have heard such good things about Sprycell for folks that

were or became intolerant to Gleevec.

Any thoughts, anyone else have this, will it pass soon? I emailed my Onc

this morning. Will be interested to see what he says. I think I am only his

2nd patient on Sprycell, so not feeling as though he will have had this posed

to him previously.

Hi

I do not remember having the headaches on Sprycel but everyone is different.

I know it will pass. Itoo loved that drug but after THREE years I got

Plueural Effusion. And swollen lymph nodes and a bunch of other things. I am

not on Tasigna and it is t he best so far. I feel normal.

Thanks everyone for sharing your Sprycell experiences. This headache is

unrelenting, if it were any worse it would be one of those brain freezes from

too much frozen stuff. I really hope it lets up over the weekend, I have a

huge week ahead next week.

I had a headache on and off for about 2 - 3 weeks on Sprycel. It should work it

self out just give it some time. Everyone is effected differently so just hang

in there and it should get better.

compared to Gleevec, Sprycel was heaven!!!! Honestly it was!! For me

anyway. I am sure you will soon see that it is for you too.

I have been on Sprycell for about a yr and a half. The headaches were absolutely

horrendous in the beginning.. Would even wake me up at night lasting for an hour

or so, but  after a few weeks they would  only last 4 or 5 seconds felt like the

inside of my head was on fire thank goodness was lasting for mere seconds. I no

longer have headaches like that thank goodness. Do have an occasional normal

headache but can cope with them.  I wish you all the luck and just know it is

all temporary.
