Guest guest
One thing I was going to suggest was something I've seen occur in NJ gatherings on a couple of occasions, that is having them at a VFW post or something similar. Rent a hall for a day; it's way easier. That way no one has to volunteer their home to be trashed and there's plenty of space to see demo's, spread out the buffet, etc. Seemed to work out well. Guest guest
Sounds good to me. I think some of these organizations would appreciate the extra income. Guest guest
Thanks for your input, Bob. We're actually working on a site like that. Of course, that will probably make the event more expensive since we'd have to pay for using the space. Is that a problem for anyone? I'm trying hard to keep the cost down, but I want to provide a good experience for everyone. Let me know your thoughts! Guest guest
Thanks, Susie. That is always the challenge--making it homey without being crammed in like sardines, lol. Things work quite nicely with our size group at 's, but few of us have the large open space that she does. Guest guest
I am more then happy to volunteer to host one of these times but the house needs a little work done first. So it wont be until another year or two. But after we do that I would be really excited to host as I have more then enoug parking, a nice area for demos and a large shaddy yard and garage for lunch and so on. Plus it's on the lake so it is nice and cool during the summer. But alas, we got a hole in the ceiling and a shed falling apart to deal with this summer yet. > > > ** > > > > > > One thing I was going to suggest was something I've seen occur in NJ > > gatherings on a couple of occasions, that is having them at a VFW post or > > something similar.
