Guest guest
Dear Barbara, I am the last person to advise anyone on athetics, as I don't participate in anything, but I found the letter interesting and international in scope, there must be hundreds out there who will find a kinship between them. Our own Marcus may be interested and willing to talk to the young athelete, as he is athletic himself, although not in the same sport. Thanks for forwarding the letter from your doctor, he will probably get several responses from it. You will always find something interesting and different here. I hope you and your family are thriving and all the children engaged in something of interest to them in school. It is very cold here today, but nothing like what is happening in the other parts of the country. So much for global warming at this point in time. Here is a quote attributed to Mark Twain about Paris............. " anywhere is better than Paris. Paris the cold, Paris the drizzly, Paris the rainy, Paris the damnable. More than a hundred years ago somebody asked Quin, " Did you ever see such a winter in all your life before? " " Yes, " said he, " Last summer. " I judge he spent his summer in Paris. Let us change the proverb; Let us say all bad Americans go to Paris when they die. No, let us not say it for this adds a new horror to Immortality. " - letter to Lucius Fairchild, 28 April 1880, reprinted in Mark Twain, The Letter Writer Also reminds me of the old saying they taught me in school, written by Mark Twain, also: " About the weather in New England: if you don't like it, wait a few minutes and it will change. " Anyone care to share their weather conditions? Baby it's cold outside, Lottie
